How do you rate Dempsey?

For me he is in the second tier of players, not as good as Messi, Neymar, or Ronaldo but still world class. Dempsey is comparable to players like Lewandowski and Greizmann. He already has dominated the best league in the world ( Premier League ) so all that's left for him now is to bring home a World Cup

He also need to help the sounders win the title

he's really not that good. A lot of his chances come form flopping next to the box or being just open enough for a tap in. Almost every FK he does goes right at the wall, and I swear every time the team is on defence he's literally just walking downfield

The spurs players were not passing on to him because Pass to Bale is the tactic and Bayol pretty much took his preferred position since Bayol was complaining to make him in the centre(forcing Dempsey to play in the wings)

He was actually a decent striker at one point, not amazing but 17 goals in one PL season is nothing to sneeze at. His career got messed up at Spurs because like this user said , Bale insisted on playing in the middle, even though it hurt the team as a whole and imo is the biggest reason for them missing out on the Champions League that year. Dempsey got forced out to the wings, wasn't nearly as effective, lost his confidence, and decided to just retire to MLS.

He's nowhere near Lewandowski and Griezmann, though, and he never was. Even at his peak he was basically Giroud-tier.
