HELP how do i copy all the files in a disk to an usb external hard disk?
first i tried copying it all via windows but it kept stoping every couple of minutes to tell me it couldnt copy some files because of their long names or something, i kept at it for like an hour but there were just too many long named files
Then i tried with a specialized program for copying large amount of data called teracopy, but its a shit and it keeps crashing
What program works? please help me!! bare in mind i dont want a fucking image, i dont want a FILE that contains whats in my disk, i want AN EXACT COPY OF ALL THE FILES IN THE DISK taken to the external HD, AS IS, NO CHANGES
can you help me please? in return my big eyes colelction
I think gentoo will help you here. Also, system32 interferes with the copying of long-named files. Deleting system32 (shredding works best) will lift the handicap, and let you freely copy anything you want.

How many files are you talking?
Also a screenshot of what you are trying to copy is the best way to figure it out

Do this
or type clone HD into google, there's several programs I've used in the past.

Use some partition cloning software. It'll be faster than regular file copying as well.

This works better than gentoo. Confirmed.

Copy C:/*.* E:/ /v
Leo Ross

What are you copying to? You main desktop HDD?
Also, why are you doing this? If it involves tits you must post them

You know you could just buy a blank hard drive, make a recovery disk, pull the old one out, and then install new one, and install windows?
>You know you could just buy a blank hard drive, make a recovery disk, pull the old one out, and then install new one, and install windows? >Also, sorry mate i dont want to spend money, on the contrary i want to sell this to get some money, the laptop itself has no sentimental value for me, i just want to save the data and get rid of it
i tried a cloning utility, paragorn or something, but it just makes an image file i dont want that
i dont want the data to be compressed in some format that i may or may not be able to retreive in the future. I want to just copy all of the raw data, from the laptops built in hard disk to an external usb hard disk

Are you copying it to the topmost or second topmost directory of the external HDD?
That should solve the long name error

why not jack off to your dad's porn folder so you can feel close to him, like he's there jacking it with you one last time before wiping it?

I've used that very cloning software to copy straight to another disk before. There was no image file involved. I think drive image xml also does this but it didn't work for me for some reason. I can't remember why anymore.

im copying to a folder in the HD
something like:
f:\dadsfiles
ill look into it, if it has a graphic interface we have a winner
that would be violating his privacy, altough if i must be completely honest i did glance at it before deleting it, the disk total capacity was 200gb, half of it was porn. It was mostly BDSM, sprinkled with very few trap videos(thanks dad i now know im not a weirdo for seeing those haha)

If that doe s not work, just make it under the main f directory
