It's a manga that's been running for 20+ years now, and it's pretty incredible. One of the things that's most interesting about it, is that the author has basically reinvented himself in his style several times throughout the series, while still keeping it true to its roots. During the first 10 volumes (referred to collectively as the "Golden Age" arc), it's basically gritty 80s style manga of purely dark medieval warfare, becoming borderlined historical fiction. but in volumes 11-12+ literally hell opens up and pours itself onto earth evil dead style but in a completely serious manner. Over the next ~5 volumes you have every bit of bad in his world corrupted and risen to full blown demonic rape-fests; corrupt priests burning everyone at the stake, packs of roving goblins kidnapping women, raping and impregnating them to make more monsters, an evil god-emporer who tries to take over the world etc. It then turns into a traditional swords/sorcery fantasy where Guts assembles a team of rag-tag heroes to destroy the five God Hands of hell, one of whom was his best friend and rival during the Golden Age.

Doom arrived in the post but I wasn't able to play it until 10~ hours after because they only included one disc which installs 7GB of the game and makes you download the remaining 36GB through Steam. Sort of wanted to do the campaign all in one go so I decided to leave it until tomorrow to play some more, looked pretty good though. Not much else though, played some Stellaris in the ten hours I was waiting which was okay, you?

That's a letdown, but sounds like it's worth it.
Not a whole lot, finally get to go home tomorrow so spent the day packing. Also finished Sky Girls which was a nice show.
Came close to fire cape. Second attempt died in 2 hits to Jad.
Third attempt got halfway and realized I forgot to re-stock bolts.
Fourth attempt got Jad at half health, distracted healers, was going great, then messed up prayer and was 1-hit.
Gonna take a break and try again in a few days.

I sure hope so, an inventory or brews/restores is expensive.
The sounds important for the first hit since you should be in the corner where he won't spawn so he doesn't spawn on you and 1-hit you with melee. But then you can't see him for the first attack and have to rely on the sound. That's what got me the first time. After I got past that, it was all in the legs, and it was easy to switch, just not easy to switch and drink brews/restores at the same time. Not used to doing that since never PKed or did real bosses.
I think the trick is only drinking one dose per switch, I was trying to do too much.

Two horned Zodd by far, before he came Griffith's bitch and was completely emasculated.
Also Miura sometimes messes up the proportions on the new 1-horn system, where he looks more like a unicorn.
I could see it being his dad, or something like that. Would be a BS asspull since Guts is a human right down to the fucking marrow of bones, and not like one of those faggot-ass monsters.
Yeah, him being a fallen king or cursed nobleman would make him a little more interesting, and not an annoying jobber.

That's why I like Golden Age so much. I never would have expected to like a manga set in medieval times, but I haven't read a finer graphic novel arc. The fantasy stuff is fun, but the realism at first was something else.
Although I was kinda joking, they do have similar eyes and pointed ears.

I love Golden Age for the same reason. I love that the magic is massively downplayed. If it wasnt for the first volume with the Black swordsman arc I think the Eclipse would have been far more shocking.

Golden Age was incredible in that sense.
I personally enjoyed the darkness and grittiness of Lost Children more.
