OP Listen because this will help. I have struggled with insomnia for most of my life and recently something has worked for me.

About 20 mins before bed take 600mg-1000mg of chelated magnesium (they are little dietary supplement pills). Magnesium will relax your mind and body. Just lay it bed like usual and you'll drift off. It wont make you hyper drowsy liek sleeping pills but it will really make drifting off easier.

You can buy chelated magnesium on Amazon and shit, jsut google it. This dosage is my recommendation, google will help you find others recommendations.

It's anxiety. Get a book, NOT your phone (the light from the phone stimulates your brain, keeping you awake) and just read laying on your side in your bed until you get tired. Your mind is junping from one thing to the next on thing like the fact that you need to wake up tomorrow. If you read, your mind will focus on one objective, the text, and soon sleepyness will take over.

As an insomniac for the last 20 years, I can tell you this method works for me 90% of the time, assuming my medication has worn down.

In my limited medical opinion, the only surefire way to go to sleep would be killing yourself. Come back to us when you've tried it so our other insomniac buddies can learn.

Try giving yourself more than a 2 hr gap before sleep, I know recommended time is approx 2 hrs but not everyone is the same.

Also, it could be possible that taking melatonin supplements isn't having that great of an effect on you. The chelated magnesium pills that someone recommended could work.

Overall, it could be that you are psychologically dependent on pills/supplements to go to sleep. As in, you feel dread when you run out of pills and try to sleep; the same dread would cause you to stay up

Keep busy. Don't sit around like a faggot. Do some yard work, play some sports. Go for a run or strenuous hike. Make your body tired and you won't help having to go to sleep.
