Classic rock.
The radio station I listen to is just like K DST. Alice Cooper DJ's at night during the weekend.
>BLACK METAL BAND!

Elitist and pretentious metalfag detected.

You... Are aware that Darkthrone was one of the bands that made Black Metal what it is, right? Or are you just retarded, like I think you are?
I want to get into these guys so damn bad...but that whiny voice kills it everytime
...
I was being sarcastic. Everyone KNOWS DT was BM. Now they just play fucking gay heavy metal/punk
we get it
u vape
bitch, they made one death metal album, they are one of the most influental second wave black metal bands. Their recent 2013 album may not be black metal, but its not far from
It's still good but it's no panzerfaust.
I want to get into Ahab so bad... But I just can't. Not sure why.
I listen to almost everything. Pop, classic rock, metal, jazz, electronica, classical, some country.
I also like seeking out amazing music scenes from around the world that nobody's heard of. Did you know there's a thriving hip-hop scene in Iran? Or that there used to be a lot of amazing surf guitar in Cambodia before the civil war there? That kind of stuff. Lately I've been into West African funk music from the seventies, places like Benin and Togo. Incredible stuff.
One thing I don't like though is the extreme metal that so many Sup Forumsros are into. I'd much prefer some early Metallica or Led Zep any day.
meh, never felt it with them
Most metal and emo shit
Sadly they are very underrated and parted ways some weeks ago...
Green Day

If what kills it for you is the vocals, then I suggest trying out Power Metal before anything else. It's probably the closest you'll ever get to traditional Heavy Metal and Thrash/Speed.
Pic related, Blind Guardian. Favorite Power Metal band.
Mostly Coldplay and older pop music from pre 2011
Well said bro
Green day, nine inch nails, a day to remember, muse (except for drones) and twenty one pilots are pretty dope.
Hey, they have a pretty big following in the metal community. Especially The Mantle. That shit is legendary.
...
The vocals are a big part of it. I can't stand that guttural croaking. But I also appreciate melody and good musicianship, and I seldom hear anything in black/death/extreme metal that I can enjoy. I'll take a look at Blind Guardian though, thanks.
I'm assuming you're Still listening to the same stuff since middle and high school. I have that problem. Just with different artists and genres. I've tried to discover new music, but not a lot sticks.
...
eh it depends on which one of them is singing. try tears over beers

Nirvana and Slipknot
Best slipknot album for sure
Silencer - mewithoutYou

Well, I'm a pretty big fan of Melodic Death Metal. Basically, Death Metal with much more melody (no shit). If you can get past the vocals, perhaps you'd find it a little decent. Here, try these bands on for size (mixed in a little more Power Metal, too).
-In Flames (early)
-Dark Tranquility
-Kalmah
-Children of Bodom
-Mors Principium Est
-Insomnium
-Before The Dawn
-Helloween
-Wolfheart
-Wintersun
-Meadows End
-Gamma Ray
-Stratovarius
-Amon Amarth

Kind of reminds me of king missile.
You care enough that you want the guy to think you don't care.
Mastadon is dope but Once More 'Round the sun and Leviathan are the 2 best albums
Anyone from EU gonna see 'em this number seven month? ( I forgot english word for it).
Anyone on MOR this year, let's meet and drink.

Not many on Sup Forums has balls to admit what music they really enjoy. 90% is rock/metal. I mean, where the fuck is the rest of the music genres?
Sorry to break it to you, but Children of Bodom are classified as Melodic Death Metal. In fact, the first 3-4 albums by those guys are considered to be Melodeath staples. Get that elitist bullshit outta here.
I listen to all kinds, I really mean ALL KINDS, except country or new rock shit. My ears can't handle twangy fuckin music.
So I'm just going to post what I'm currently into. Please take a listen people of /b. PEASE LISTEN.

Just about to post the exact same album. Congrats for good taste.
