Feel? Just look at where the car is pointing. The rear camera is objectively the best point of view because you can see the entirety of your car and its relative position to everything. More information eliminates a lot of the doubts and unknowns present in hood/bumper/cockpit views.

In Forza you are forced to use 3rd person view in online races, since everyone is always trying to ram off people instead of clean races, and the extra vision can help you dodge those fuckers.

It's harder to perceive the direction when camera is rotating around the car, like in Forza. That's why in Gran Turismo and many other sims rear camera is fixed.
It's easier to perceive drift angle though.
