All were good albums, but wasn't breaking down boundaries like Macklemore did. Kanye did the whole black empowerment gimmick which isn't popular anymore since the Super Nintendo (except with late 30-somethings still listening to Immortal Technique) and he promoted and directed it to the fashion world for not immediately thinking he's the greatest designer ever. Eminem was fag this, fag that. His homophobic album winning would've set hip-hop back. So I applaud The Grammy's for encouraging progressive thinking by letting Macklemore win and maybe others can follow his lead in the future.
