You're right for the most part. HOWEVER, Busse Woods is a staple of the genre.

Busse Woods is essential stoner metal. Especially for somebody just starting out.

Come my Fanatics and Witchcult Today are both better ablums.

Dopelord is similar in textures but is much less dark sounding.

They're still good man just a little more light-hearted

I like the album. One of the few times I would say the use of such a drastic effect on a singers voice IMPROVED the quality of an album.

I guess I'll give the first actual response.

Dopethrone has walls of distortion more in the manner of doom metal. Depending on your definition of shoegaze walls of effects is the key component.

Electric Wizard uses significantly less pedals than most "shoegaze" bands but through their distortion they emulate a similar sound. The heavy and thick guitars fill up the room in a way that more resembles the Smashing Pumpkins, another band that could be argued as shoegaze.
