Post your collections edition.

Let's have a comfy dungeon synth thread, Sup Forums. What are you listening to right now?

This album has been hyped a lot but I don't really get the attraction to the music. Is it the concept that people are more drawn to?

what are the essentials i only listened to burzum

There's a few charts on the wiki.

In particular I'd recommend Depressive Silence, Sequestered Keep, Til Det Bergens Skyggne and all the stuff in the OP pic. After that just browse the dungeon synth tag on RYM and band camp.

Burzum - Hliðskjálf
Depressive Silence - Depressive Silence II
Mortiis - Keiser Av En Dimensjon Ukjent
Hate Forest - Temple Forest
Summoning - Lost Tales

After listening to the classics, it's fun to search the internet and explore the genre for obscure tapes from different countries and years. Caducaus - Middle Ages is one of my favorites that was pretty obscure before Sup Forums really picked up on it in Dungeon Synth threads.

does dungeon synth count as bm for nbbmn?

This question gets asked a lot and honestly I think it depends on what you decide, since it's a personal challenge for yourself.

Personally, I listen to any Dungeon Synth that has an obvious black metal influence in aesthetic and sound. Stuff like Burzum or Mortiis.

Will check that Caduceus album out, any other obscure recs? I'll trade you.

I mean it definitely doesn't but there's no reason we can't try.

Bumping for interest.

i really hope Hedge Wizard releases a new album at some point, i loved his first one

Agreed, I listened to it earlier and it was quite magical.

Anyone else here collect cassettes?

>tfw desperately trying to not listen to dungeon synth so you have all of NBBMN to listen to it and not get tired of it
shit's hard lads, I only got 4 days but it's been almost a month

fug

I ignored dungeonsynth because I thought it was just going to be shallow meme shit for autistics just like synthwave.

I was genuinely surprised when I listened to some, it's really good. Sounds like early industrial artists that were inspired by first edition D&D instead, solid.

I know this is the ultimate pleb question so sorry to the elite mu squad, but what are some good dungeon synth albums on Spotify? Is that not a thing? I used to download all my music but lost it all when my HD crashed so now im a slave to streaming :/

>Elfen - To Eldamar from Minas Morgul
youtube.com/watch?v=BV2_efCFMfE
Epic atmosphere with some decent black metal vocals and excerpts from what I think is Lord of the Rings.

>Onoskelis - The Hecate Prophecies in your Cold Throne
youtube.com/watch?v=86ERoKMa0lo
Similar to Depressive Silence

>Olgerd - Olgerd demo
youtube.com/watch?v=s-5_9iMaWA4
Pretty spooky sounding honestly.

bump

There really isnt much dungeon synth on spotify, but there is at least one playlist available that i know of. Mortiis' stuff is on there at least.

are there any good collections of dungeon synth out there to sample on filesharing sites like mega?
also if anyone knows of some good albums on the lo-fi side of things I'm open to recommendations. I'm almost completely new to the genre and just know that I really love the almost SNES or demoscene-esque synth tones some stuff has, as well as the warbled cassette sound of many of the earlier releases of the genre.

possibly a link to dl? this is really solid
