Shameless self bump. Don't want to jump in a complete newb.

Pyro, hold w+mouse1 until you die, keep doing it

Last bump

Start by installing Overwatch, a far superior game in every way.

Soldier, pyro and heavy are nice starters.

Also, the more hats you have the better you are.

I heard from the YouTubes that is frowned upon lol

buy overwatch, it's tf2 for 2016

also, buy the most expensive hat you can find on the market, or else no one will take you seriously.

waste all your cash on keys for crates

This game is a copy of Overwatch sir. Delete it.

Shoot people until they die

Yes good goy trick the new kids yes

I planned on it when I get paid next week

afk for nice hats

Play a medic if u want to get high score for doing practically nothing.

This
/Thread

Something about hats.

Dont be the guy that blows up the conga line

Op here. I'm not falling for your Overwatch trickery. If i was going to buy an FPS it would be Gearbox's new one

Use the fucking medic while you learn, do something for your team

...

triplenipples

>Scout
Never stop moving, jump like a jackrabbit
>Soldier
Try to hit your rockets
>Pyro
Go forward, hold mouse 1
>Demoman
Be a cunt and hide sticky bombs near their base
>Heavy
Same principle as Pyro, but tankier
>Engineer
Don't
>Medic
Heal people with low HP
>Sniper
This isn't COD
>Spy
Please don't

Dreadnought or greygoo?
I just got my closed alpha key for dreadnought.
Pic related.

Basically

Best info in the thread.

Never invest this much hours into the game. It isn't worth it.

Let me give you a word of advice on the classes

More skills

Spy
Scout
Sniper
Soldier
Demoman
Heavy
Engineer
Medic
Pyro

Less skills

wat

Op here. I heard there are drops, what's that about?

dubs git

>Sniper near top of list

>Can't click heads

too poor for overwatch?

Anything else?

>Medic is low skill
>Demoman not in top 3
>Sniper is high skill

Harder than aiming rockets at feet and spamming stickies

You randomly find new weapons that you can use, on very rare occasions you can find cosmetic items as well. You only get a certain amount of drops per week. Also do not use the Mann co store everything there is extremely overpriced

nice dubdubs

You're gonna watch the "Meet The" trailers, get excited to try it, mess around for a while on Scout and Pyro. You're gonna get killed by a Sniper with a hat with shit floating around it, a lot. You're gonna go on 2fort and try Sniper, and realise you've spent 100 hours on Sniper. You'll get bored and play Payload as a few different classes. You'll decide you like the game enough to go buy at hat in the store to get more item drops. You'll find trade servers, and realise that the hat you spent 10$ on is worth 12 cents. You'll want to get in on trading. You'll find websites like Scrap and Backpack. You'll find yourself buying and selling keys to be more fun than playing the actual game. Before long you'll have your first unusual. That's probably a Nuts n Bolts for whatever class you've been playing a lot of lately. You'll get very good at this class. You'll call yourself a "class-main" and get yelled at by everyone because your class is garbage. You'll get bored of 24 hour Turbine and Upward servers. You'll stop playing, maybe go try out CSGO or Overhype. After a few weeks, you'll watch some old STAR_ and Jerma videos, and realise you miss it. You'll have 2000 hours in no time.

Welcome to Team Fortress 2. We hope it was worth the weight.

shoot shoot bang bang wear hat.

Start as Pyro. If it moves, burn it. If it doesn't move, burn it anyway. If there's nothing there, again, burn it anyway. Some classes will be even harder until you know the map, so playing a kamikaze pyro helps you be productive while you learn the map.

My literal experience

start as Medic, heal everyone, learn the maps, look at how other play their classes, learn the best strategies, get praised for being a Medic, learn effective movement and cover, learn how to prioritize healing targets depending on their class, get praised for being a good Medic, get used to the feeling of helping your team getting better, become that guy who always plays Medic or Support in every game

There's a difference between being able to afford it, but not agreeing with a price for what it is vs not being able to afford it.

QUESTION!

I played this game religiously when it went f2p up until around the robot survival gamemode came out, should i start playing again? has it gotten better/worse?

Pretty much about the same experience.

Yeah and you don't even need an actual skill for playing it

Or you could play engie if there's not any active spies while you learn.

Blizzard fag detected

No hope coming here to 4chins.
Go to reddit.com/r/tf2 to get a whole bunch of fantastic info.

Go into steam

Go to Library

Right click on Team Fortress 2

Click delete local content

Done, you've just won.

Fuck that's accurate

Worse but next updates are balancing this shit pushing players into actually having skills.
Oh and we have a competitive matching now

Start by deleting the game. Serious. I love Team Fortress 2, and that's why i hate the game. Valve is great at making games but there is no worse company in giving them proper support. You will find a game with no matchmaker, neither decent servers; then you will have to scrap out for hours until you find a server that has people actually playing, just to find that half of them are retards and the other half are afk. When you find a good match, people will start quitting and you will be switching teams faster than captain america, because nothing matters in this fucking game. But, if you want something that will give you at most 1 hour of fun per 20 hours of playtime, go ahead.

...

well, it didn't have the part where I spent 500 hours in mariokart micspam servers, but this was otherwise dead-on.

Good meme reply.

tf did i just watch?

...

...

>Download tf2 because myfriend said he was loving it
>Start out using pyro
>Get rekt by veteran players every game
>Try other classes
>Can't even learn them i die so fast
>get annoyed and practice sniper in custom maps for a few hours
> Start using sniper in regular games
>Crap weapon takes 2 headshots to kill a guy
>guy with better weapons 1 shot kills me
> every single game i go 0 / 15 or worse
>Get annoyed as hell and uninstall it

1 week later

>Friend nags me to reinstall
>Consider maybe I just need more practice
>Reinstall
>Use engineer for the laziest kill streaks imaginable
>spam engineer until i'm bored with basically no interaction
>use literally any other character
> 0/50
>uninstall again
>write a bad review on steam

And that about sums up this shit game. worse matchmaking than league of legends.

Would not recommend team fortress if you actually like having fun.

...

Hahaha, /thread.

Op here. How has this thread not 404'd yet?

Engineer builds sentry guns to guard areas
Demoman uses stickybombs or rushes for melee.
Heavy is the minigun guy but needs support to defend him from snipers
Pyros burn things and prevent spies
Scouts cap objectives and steal stuff
Soldiers shoot rockets but lack defense
Snipers take out high-value targets but are weak
Spies copy enemies to do 1-hit backstab kills
Medics win games at the cost of back-seating someone else.

As soldier, shoot the ground around your targets with the rockets

shoot guys

thats literally being poor

Agreed. It's not a $40 game. It's not about having or not having the money. It's value.

Also nice dubs

Wm1 is an art you're just mad because you're bad
