Now, I don't know this definently, but I think you can slowly get used to breathing easier if you just start off slow, then progress at a slow pace. I started jogging this week, and first day it was horrible to breath, now it's quite a bit easier. As I said, don't know definently, all I know is breathing got easier for me as I slowly progressed, but I don't have asthma.
