The real answer is whatever your friends have. If you have no friends then Xbox for multiplayer and ps4 for single player. I have both and a pc and I gotta say I barely use my pc anymore accept to play games I can get on either console.

It's not gonna run like a pc yea but for 99% of people it will run just fine. Plus I think what people gotta realise is that with Windows 10 eventually pc games will just be also xbox games and the power difference/graphics/running will be little enough that unless you got tons of cash it won't be worth it to get a gaming pc.

just built my buddy a top end computer with a new skylake i5 for about $620. only thing he's waiting for is the new GTX 1070. he'll have a computer that will max games at 1080p for a good 5-6 years that he can also do his work on for about $1000 which is half of what he was planning on spending for a macbook.

mobo is an asus z97A, psu corsair 850, those were the most recent additions, totaled about 600 at the time, on top of everything else id say close to 1k.

Excluding shipping? Maybe an hour including my testbench. Two bigger ssds came in later, that's why they're all sized differently. Cost me about 1200 for everything besides the vive headset.

Later this year, I'm thinking doing a sli/crossfire setup with a hardtube watercool job. I'm thinking two loops, one for gpus, one for cpu. Case is massive, so I can have like 5 rads inside. I don't know a whole lot about it yet, but my idea was to go res -> gpu1 -> bigass rad -> gpu2 -> normal rad. Mostly cause I'm overclocking, so I want some good cooling going on in there. Will run all noctua fans.

Forgot to add, I might switch cases if I deem this one not good for water-cooling. Is there any specific case anyone knows of that's good for cooling + quiet?

The new PS4 and XB coming is supposed to be 4K ready.

the new PS4 is more than double in performance (1.84 teraflops to 4.14 tflops) , the rumored "goal" for the new XB is supposed be about 5x more powerful than the current XB1 (1.3 tflops to 6 tflops). Keep in mind the new GTX 1070 is 6.45 tflops. So if XB can hit that, I'd be very impressed.

xbone has better "backwards combatability" but I prefer the PS4 just cause. honestly get a PS3 or 360 way better than the newer consoles
