Being a beaner is suffering

Can't you legally change your name easily in your country?

Because in mine it's almost next to impossible. So count yourself lucky.

Site?

How can they find you when thousands in your city have the same name?

I don't feel like typing in every single variation.

I have to admit, I'm a little surprised because the US is only number 2, but it IS a pretty common name in Germany, I guess.

This

Nope. Without even looking, I'd guess mine is a little less common than that, at least. To be fair, when I say it's common in Germany, it's a little misleading. Not even in the top 100.

Noone will ever guess my obscure German surname

Surname is Germanic. Originated in Alsacia when the place was still 'German', not French. It is more popular among immigrants, however.

How did you find the origin?

Japan
America
Brasil

JAB alliance

Southern French name from what I know

A dude was researching about the surname, since he also has it. Not sure about his whole formation, but he had a degree in history. He went to my grandmother's home one day to interview her about her family and left some nice info and material. Curiously, later I found out my German ancestors (don't know the word in English, but about four generations before me) were, in fact, born in Alsacia, but came here from Darmstadt.

CHI

Pretty common.

>four generations before me
2nd-great-grandparents?

Interesting story nonetheless.
