This is quite accurate.
To express something, we can choose one of two:
a) pronounce complicated syllables slowly
b) pronounce simple syllables fast
In Japanese language, usually we count "beats" instead of "syllables". in other languages, beats = syllables, but Japanese speed is 11.6 beats/s, faster than syllables
