10/10

Fucking great. One of my top 5 favorite albums of the year. I also personally think that it's Bon Iver's best album.

AOTY

love the progression from BI to this, Justin fits well into this more electronic landscape although the new elements aren't overbearing and he remains true to his sound

AOTY imo

I think the cover is bullshit.

ehhh, 9 at most. I thought 45 and Moon Water were pretty underwhelming. The rest is perfect though imo

i think the cover is the best thing about it.

my favorite this year without question, don't see anything else topping it

No it literally is. Someone at that press conference he held asked if the titles and symbols meant anything and he literally said they're meaningless lmao

7.5/10, at max

Massive disappointment, but every bad album is bound to have a few decent songs. Shame because the last one was a 9.

deliberately meaningless titles isnt meaningless.... not having an obvious intended meaning is different than meaning. kind of impossible for anything to be meaningless if it effects someone enough to think about it or ask question about it or post about it on an image board.

regardless its just dull mainstream pop with slight "artsy" leanings. overall pretty lame.

You could say the same thing about Arthur Russell, and he's amazing. In fact this album is like a modern day Arthur Russell thing

lmao haha

Pretentious, self-indulgent garbage. Only 2 decent songs.

>Criticizing music for being self-indulgent
If music isn't personal then what is it?

45 and moon water are some of the best songs on the album. The minimal songs on here far outclass the others. 33 GOD is a fucking mess.

I thought all of those were good

Beautiful and underrated. I like the mysterious and sense of unknown aspects of it

Bon Iver's only authentic album. Too bad it sucks and is horribly pretentious and boring. Vernon is not as smart or insightful as he believes himself to be.

When does he ever try to come off as being smart or insightful? He constantly says most of his lyrics don't actually mean anything

Feel like you're just talking out of your ass

You literally have the opposite opinion to me. 45 and Moon Water are like 5-6/10 to me while the rest are perfect imo. I love the messiness of 33 God

It's refreshing record. it clocks in to about 40 minutes and every other album this year seems to take an hour to even get the ball rolling, but I like how to the point it is.

Over soon, Creek, 33 God, Stradford Apt, 666, and 00000 million are some of the project's best songs. My least favorite would have to be Deathbreast but I do enjoy the second half of the track.

I give it an 8/10. It's something that I find myself revisiting more and more often and will probably end up on my year end list.

Great cover and design of supplementary materials. I personally love that it's glitchy and lo-fi. Compared to some of Bon Iver's early pussy sounding soft folk it's a breath of fresh air. Experimental, heavily based on samples, noisy, etc. I think it's pretty cool. And his vocals are always well layered. 7.5/10
