Heavy Metal Recommendation

For the most part you see Black Metal threads or rather fringy stuff on here, but what I'm looking for these days is a ballsy, testosterone-filled cheesefest that won't take itself too seriously. Well produced, tight sounding heavy metal in the spirit of Primal Fear, Freedom Call, Running Wild etc. Preferrably great new bands, as it is quite hard to find something fresh in this genre

i was wondering about the dio connection, but soussan, campbell and appice quickly made it clear. good singer and good band.

Also Orden Ogan:

Manowar is all you need.

Wolf - The Black Flame

I agree with this

Jimmy Bain was in the band as that stage, Soussan only came in when Bain died during a tour.

Appice and Craig Goldy also have another band on Frontiers called the "Resurrection Kings" alongside Sean McNabb from Great White and Chas West, a Robert Plant clone who sang with Jason Bonham for years and was briefly in Foreigner.

>ballsy, testosterone-filled cheesefest
The /metal/ general goes on cheesy power metal tangents all the time.
Have some stuff

Can someone please recommend me some melodic death metal, but more "metal" than "melodic"? Along the likes of, say, Allegaeon, Inferi, Besegra, Quo Vadis, maybe even Bloodshot Dawn. I am looking for a nice balance of heaviness and melody, with more emphasis on heaviness. Some more pointers:

- no keyboards, cant stand them

- clean sections are fine

- blast drumming is fine, but I don't really prefer it, as I think that it's not creative and there is much more you can do behind the drumset

- technical things are fine, as long as they are tasteful and not mindless "look what I can do!" wank-fest
And please, DO NOT recommend any Gothenburg melodic death, I have heard plenty of it and that is precisely what I am not looking for.

Is there anyone able and willing to help?

There's a bunch of bands on the much more brutal spectrum of melodeath that might be for you.

>no keyboards
damn I was going to recommend lykathea aflame, they use keyboards but are really heavy compared to most melodeath.

Indeed, this is what I am looking for. I have all of Intestine, but Kronos is news for me, do you have any other recs? Or maybe direct me to a list/forum post/website with this kind of metal?

Still gonna check them out, exceptions are allowed

I found Kronos in the /metal/ general, asked for stuff like intestine baalism and arghoslent and some guy showed me Kronos

I just heard 4 songs by Kronos, and I really like them, especially because I can actually hear the bass and it's awesome
