I was more making a joke about normies learning not to set any expectations for other people though.

Setting expectations for oneself is a great thing to do, my only problem would be that modern society undervalues people setting any expectations that aren't done for social approval and that aren't about being "the best".

My sleep schedule's back on track for now. Went to bed around 2, woke up briefly at 5 then up properly at 7. Might lie down again later.

I think a lot of young people nowadays just don't feel they need to get married to stay together. They don't about the religious aspect of it and weddings cost a good deal.

Eh, well ironically I agree with them because of what divorce has done, but it's important to make the religious sacrament or at least a symbolic "cementing" of the "relationship".
Plus if you're ever played CK2 you'll know making your children bastards is just unkind to them, particularly if you plan to avoid adding injury to that insult by actually staying with the other parent.
