This. And the sequel. I rented the first one, about 4 times. Those memory cards didn't hold a lot of data. First time I rented it I couldn't get past this one mission. I would play up to that point, then get stuck.
I think on my third go of renting it I got further but I still got stuck on this one mission. A short draw distance, AI that could spot you from a mile and enemies armed with weapons that could easily do as much damage to you as yours could to them made the game obnoxiously hard.
Although I bought that and the sequel years later and have played through both several times. To the point that the game isn't nearly as challenging anymore. It was supposed to have a 3rd game because the 2nd on ends on a cliff hanger. Fucking psygnosis getting bought by sony.

About 16 years ago there was a mother and her 10 year old autistic son who lived next to me. He'd turn the volume all the way up on his tv play this fucking game. Well, wouldn't play it but just had the fucking menu music blaring out of tv so loud you could hear it down the block. People complained but his mom said he "needed it" it'd be playing 24/7 surprised his PlayStation didn't burn out. Well one day. I had enough and decided to go over there and pretend to befriend him. Went up into his room saw him curled up on the floor rocking making hmmmmmmmm,hm,mmmhmmmm sounds. Went up to the tv and shut the PlayStation off. He screeched like a seagul in heat. I told him to shut up. And made a fiat at him. Opened up the PlayStation and removed the disc which was really warm and scratched up. Snapped it threw it on the ground and left. He then charged at me and bit my jacket sleeve. I told him to get the hell off me and kicked him in the thigh. He fell down and started thrashing around. His mom ran in a panicked satiated and asked what was going on. Saw him thrashing looked in his room and saw disc on floor. Asked w the hell was my problem. I told her "your son" walked out of her home. Half hour later cops showed up to my house because she said I assaulted her son. I explained what happened and they didn't arrest me. A few weeks later she moved away.
