How big is your music library, Sup Forums?

How big is your music library, Sup Forums?

bout tree fiddy

36.8 gigs

...

Sup Forums here

do you agree that Sup Forums is the worst board on Sup Forums?

it's hard to say it's THE worst, but it's somewhere in there at the bottom

not at my computer right now but last time i checked was 97 gigs and that was about a year ago. I download almost exclusively in flac though

probably gotta get culling soon

Not far from you desu

plebs

...

60 gigs in mp3. Cover art takes ~20% of that though.

Also I mostly listen to music online. Generally, I download a discography when I want to put something on my phone. So that metric doesn't show anything useful really.

...

>all these plebs with less than 120 gbs

this thread is fail

so how does Sup Forums feel about the different digital audio formats?

it's ok
my phone has about 30 more gigs of music that aren't on my PC

normies RAUS

Around 120 gbs, it's not much, all in mp3.

My sentiment exactly.

Mostly V0

I'm guessing everyone here with 50+ GB has most of their library at less than 10 play counts

I don't feel good about having a huge backlog...

>74 albums
Do you not like music user?

79 gigs
mix of v0, 320, and few flac albums
in this age of streaming, having a large music collection is becoming superfluous
I still have all my favorite albums in my collection but you can listen to almost anything online now

Why would I want to listen to more than 10 times music I didn't enjoy?

Then why would you keep it?

Why wouldn't I? I'm making a music library, that includes things I like and things I probably don't.

Why not?
Maybe it's a bad album with one good track, maybe it's a grower and eventually you like it, maybe it's just rare.

...

do you keep food you don't like in your fridge too

I'm not making a food library. Any more stupid analogies you'd like to share?

let's do some math. you see in the picture that i have about 64.66 days of music which takes up 214.4 GB of space. (214.4 GB) / (64.66 d) = 307 kb/s, i.e. the average bitrate of my library is almost 2.5 times what you suggest. this makes sense because i have mostly V0 and some FLAC.

you're retarded

About 99% of it was ripped from CDs.

>tfw almost 120 gb

a-am i patrician yet

forgot pic

Personally I'd state the bare minimum of having a good collection to be 100 gb, so yeah, you're fine senpai.

No.

I have about a thousand CDs in my shelf.

>all these plebs with less than [arbitrary number]
120 gigs of shit don't make you any less of a pleb

>measuring by file size

If you have a bunch of 24 bit rips that would be like 50-60 albums

But I have a ton of physical records. ;_;

Just rip them in delicious flac my nigga

>XP

My fucking negro

How do you fuckers have so small libraries? I have a small as fuck collection in 192 bitrate and I'm already hitting 80.

4.20 gb

I have over 200 CDs in my collection, and probably over 50 vinyl records.

And about 43.5 gigabytes. I could do better, but I keep my library reasonably tight.

Whatever dude your name is netito

I've got about 550 gigs. There is more music on my phone than a lot of you have in your collections.

My collection on Allmusic which is basically all of my CDs, for proof

Truly, the name of champions.

STEP IT UP
no seriously step it up, there's so much good music in the world, if you don't have 300gb you havent earned your Sup Forums license yet
Just curious, how long have you been listening to music?

This plus ~75gb of music in my downloads folder that I haven't bothered to organize and send to my external HD yet plus ~450 physical records (many of which are ripped into this collection).

im freshly 20 years old and didnt get into music in earnest until sophomore year of high school so like 15.
to be honest I have a lot of backlog on there, but most of it I have listened to I think.

guess it's not that lonely at the top

ok grandson

How much time do you spend listening to new music vs listening to old favorites? How many times do you listen to an album before deciding how much you like it? Do you use RYM or discogs to catalogue your taste? Do you ever revisit albums that you previously didn't like?

That's a pretty stunning amount of music for someone who's only 20 tbqh family

>implying

There are people on Sup Forums with far more than you or the guy you linked or even this guy

I go to Sup Forums sometimes, mostly for the /bst/ generals, and Sup Forums is far worse. So much worse.
But there's some good here. My main complaint is too many memes. Memes are fine in regulation, but nobody here knows to cool down on those sometimes t b h

>rate my dick

>How much time do you spend listening to new music vs listening to old favorites?
Recently I haven't really been listening to much music at all. I spent the whole summer listening to the same 10 shitty amateur rap albums and nothing else
>How many times do you listen to an album before deciding how much you like it?
Once or twice, sometimes it takes a while to click, like TMR
>Do you use RYM or discogs to catalogue your taste?
Nah
>Do you ever revisit albums that you previously didn't like?
Yeah if there's potential, or I delete them.

Mostly I'm a pleb and have such a huge library because I like to hoard files and I share them all on soulseek so. And I like both posting and lurking in sharethreads which I discovered when I was underage and have loved since.

One of the users in my slsk user list has a collection of 500,000+ files.

Anime cancer shit OST's don't count neckbeard

>people have a bigger dick than you

>t. dick expert

>ripping vinyl records

I'm not sure I understand the implication here.

>not

excluding my flac but also including all my shitty trap

142 gigs v0

but like, who cares? I deleted my whole library five years ago so I could start over with something constrained and more organized

honestly, its so easy to get music that what you exclude from your collection says more about you than what you include

Been hording a lot in the last months though

I have paranoia that my fav trackers might go down

why would you just delete 142 gigs instead of reorganizing them as they are

you could copy them from one drive to another, one at a time as though you were downloading them, and rename them that way, there's literally no reason to outright delete them

I'm not going to delete my current library.

I deleted my library in 2011 cuz it was like 200 nasty gigs of remixes and bangers and singles with no album art. Unsalvagable.

Anyway I only listen to probably 65% of what I download as it is.

music is all I do/listen to so, no.

it's incomplete as fuck tho

currently 139gb on my laptop but with my external hard drive it should be something close to 200

1.5 gb. I have Fugazi's discography and nothing else :)

I don't know where does all this music come from desu.

Kind of does actually. Lemme guess, you've got maybe 10?

>524 Gb
>28wk 2d
I have to delete porn movies to free HDD space :S

impressive

Comin up on that 40k

I bought an external hard drive so my porn is safe

>all this overcompensating for no social lives

nigga you should be embarrassed to post that fucking picture.
