BANANANANANANANA
>You're gonna run
>It's alright
>Everybody does
>It's not easy when what you think of me it important
>And I know it shouldn't be so damn important
>But it is to me
>SOMEBODY'S LISTENING AT NIGHT
>THE GHOSTS OF MY FRIENDS WHEN I PRAAAAAAAAY
>ASKING WHY DID YOU LET THEM LEAVE
>AND THEN MAKE ME STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
>there are some parents whose children looong for for divorceeee
>TO SHOW OR TO
This track is overrated as shit
>sometimes you hear me when others they can't hear me
>halleeluuujaaaaah
Loch Raven was transcendent live
>ONE TWO
>FUCK YOU
>SAAAIL AWAY, AWWWAAAAY
>RIPPLES NEEEEEVVVEER COME BACK
>
my nigga
>I
>DONT
>WANT
>TO
>GO
>IN
>SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANE
>what's that twitching?
>is it stilll
>ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE
>HE DOESN'T KNOW WHY HIS LIFE TURNED OUT THIS WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
This desu. The first time i heard Street Flash it was fucking magical
This is the most fucking heartbreaking song, because it's so real
>in the choir I saw our sad messiah
>he was bored and tired of my laments
>said I died for you one time, but never again
this. i saw them last night and loch raven was the highlight of my year
>it is real...
>it is RAEEEEEL!
>I LOVE MY DOG AND SHE LOVES ME
>THE WORLD'S A MESS AND SO ARE WE
>LOST A FRIEND TO STUBBORN PRIDE
>AND THEN I LOST MYSELF
>FANTASIZING THE SIGHT OF MANHATTAN
>MANHATTAAAAAAAAN
The part around 1:01 onwards, no words needed. Pure emotion.
Not the sads tho. Nostalgia? Maybe.
>LISTEN TO ON FIRE, PRETEND SOMEONE COULD LOVE YOU
>I THOOOOOUUUUGHT
>I WOOOOOOUUUULD
>BE MOOOOOOORE
>THAN THIIIIIIIS
Yeah, that and Bees were the highlights for me. Wish they'd played more old songs, because the ones they did play were amazing. Panda's repeated "I will not give up on you"s were chill inducing
>when ceilings smile, we'll sleep a while in LIIIIIIIIGHT
also
>you leave my BOOY ALOOONE
>WE RIDE TONIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT
>GHOST HORSEEEEEES
this. Hunter is the better and more "epic" long song on the album
Hop Along does not get enough love around here. One of the best contemporary rock bands
>WE AAAAARE FROOM THE SAAAAAAME MUUUUUUUUUM
>WE AAAAARE FROOM THE SAAAAAAME MUUUUUUUUUM
>TAKE MEEEEEEEEEEEE MY DARLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR
>I'VE BEEEEEEN WAITING SOOOOOOOOOOOO LOOOOOOOOOOONG FOR YOUUUUU TO COOOOOOOME
Nothing lives up to Get Disowned or her solo folk album, imo. Feels like she lost her voice, but the guitarist from Algernon always writes decent songs at least.
God I miss their old sound. :(
I dunno, I got into them through Painted Shut. In my view its about equal to Get Disowned, and I've only listened to Freshman Year a couple of times so I cant really comment on that album yet. I did see them live twice in the last 2 months though and both shows were incredible
>Stop believing your being’s been shattered and distorted cause, brother, you're so full of love
>Dad I can't see, I lost my voice, I need direction.
>Hold on. Keep up. I'll show you inside, in this good house for it's light, I spend all my time
>Words slip by when I'm silent, I have to let so many people down, but the bell from the ice cream man comes to save the day.
>Take a drive to the Jacksonville pharmacy and pretend that a new apartment and a heart don't make me old
haven't seen them since late 2012, when they were still doing basement shows. in all the recent live videos i've seen she rasps so hard, which she never did during Get Disowned.
dunno if she just likes the sound of it or her voice blew out because she went ridiculously hard every show
>WHERE HAVE ALL THE COWBOYS GONEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUU?!?!?!?!?!?!!
Lads!! I need to know!!! Is Loch Raven a song they play everyshow??? because according to set list.Com only random shows get radom old songs. you either get Loch Raven/Bees or Daily Routine/Summertime and more mixed options. which is it?
>I know it's hard for you to change
>Before we part our separate ways
>You need to know
>I understand you
Both fantastic
>Carissa was 35
>You don't just raise two kids and take out your trash and die
COUNTING ALLUUUUUUUVIAL PLAAAAAANES
>WE'RE NOT SCARE MONGERING
>THIS IS REALLY HAAAPENNG
>DYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYIN' IN THE OVENS
>LET US USE THAT POWER
>LET US ALL UNITE
When I saw them like 6 months ago, they were playing almost the same set list every night, and playing loch raven every show. I don't know about their more recent shows though, I think they added some other songs into the mix. But when I saw them, it was loch raven, bees, Alvin row, and daily routine as the only old songs every show
>GOD DAMN TURN AROUND, YOU'RE MY A-TEAM
>LIKE SPINNIIING PLAATES
>Cause every single story
>Is a story about love
>Both the overflowing cup
>And the painful lack thereof
damn i wished they played alvin row
>I WAS TRYING TO HELP
>BUT I GUESS I PUSHED TOO HARD
>I want you to love me
>More than I love you
>Tell me if that's something you can do
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now
For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when no hope was left in sight
On that starry, starry night
You took your life, as lovers often do
But I could've told you Vincent
This world was never meant for
One as beautiful as you
>My bloooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDD FLOWS HAAARRSHLY
>Babe, I saw what you did tonight
>It’s ugly but it is all I want
>Babe, they call me the medicine man
>But my old spells don’t work anymore
idk they played it at my show, but didnt play daily routine which i was expecting
That album might from a song by song standpoint be their worst, but damn I love the moments on it.
>Under my hat, it reads
>the lines are all imagined,
>A fact of life I must impress on my little girls
>I know my place amongst the creatures in the pageant....
>And there are flowers in the garbage,
>and a skull under your curls.
I'm actually appriciating it more and more as time goes on.
Once you get into the more melancholy feel it really shines, while the older albums indie style feels more distant to me. Also:
>I made a fumblin’ play for your heart and the act struck a spark
>You wore a charm in a chain that I stole especially for you
>Love’s such a delicate thing that we do, with nothing to prove
Ripoff Feels-era Animal Collective? Me too.
after fall b kind thy got worse :(
>DONT LEAVE HOOOOOOME AGAIN
>and I miss you when you're around
>A. I. D. S.
>H. I. V.
>I CAN
>NOT WAIT TO DIE
>CAN'T YOU TELL CAN'T YOU TELL CAN'T YOU TELL
If it makes you feel any better, it was a truncated version, not the full song. Didn't quite have the same effect without the "ruuuuuuuuuun" yell
Also if you really want to hear the live versions of these songs, they released a couple of live shows on their bandcamp
> AND IT IS NOT A MATTER OF IF YOU MEAN IT, BUT IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF COME AND FUCK ME
underrated song, my favorite album
good moment but doesn't make me feel
agree. I saw car seat headrest live a little over a month ago and even though I danced my heart out Drunk Drivers fucked me up. They have a lot of songs that fuck me up.
this ufcking entire album
this for real
I got a bone to pick
AND A FEW TO BREEEEEEEEEAAAAKKK
>it's been a pleasure, Stefan
I'll NOOTTT CONTAIIN YOU
>ONLY ONLY ONLY ONLY
>Wanderers this morning came by
>Where do they go, graceful in the morning light
>break into children's hospitals crying out
>DONT FUCK WITH ME DONT FUCK WITH MEEEEEEEE
>I closed my eyes
>And thought I was blind
>It was the middle of the night
>And I'll never be alright again
>Will you ever know how much I love you for that?
>Will you ever know how much I love you?
if you've never cried to this album after a breakup than you're an absolute dog cunt and you don't know shit about feelings.
>HI I'M BJORK
>*Holds up SPORK XD*
>We were ghosts even then, errant sunlight on our skin.
>SUNLIGHT SUNLIIIGGHHTT
>And we drove out to the bluffs, raced each other through the dust.
>WE'RE ALL GONNAAA DIEEEE
I feel this one so much
>LET ME BATHE AMIDST MY IGNORAAAANNNCCCEEEEE
>AS IF I WERE ASLEEEEEEPPP
>KISS MEEEE BUT I DON'T WAAAANT TOOOO
>YES I THOUGHT OUR MOUTHS WOULD MEEEETT
>OR AT THE VERY LEAST OUR EEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYEEEEESSSSS
>ITS TIME I GREW AND SAID TO THEM
"IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS"
>WE ANALYZE THE STATES WE'RE IN
>WHY IS IT THAT WHEN WE SNEEZE
>THERE'S A CHANCE WE'LL DIE
>ALOOONNNEEEE
>This is not universal Kid is not he who abandoned that auditorium and no, I do not want to become him anymore
>I THINK I'LL LEEEAVVEE THIS PLACE NOOOOWWWWW
>EMILYYYY YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLAAAAAYYYYY
>YOU ARE NOT HEEERRR AND HE IS NOT MEEEEEE
>WAAYYY BEFORE NOOOWWWW
this reminds me
>GARDENS GET COLD AND THE LONE TREE'S CUT TO BETTER REAL ESTATE!
>I WILL SLEEP ON THE FLOOR TONIGHT!!
>YOU CAAMMEE TO MY WINDOOOWW
>IN THE FORM OF A MAP OF THE STARS!
>AS IF YOUU WEREEEENN'T ADOOORRRREEEEDDDD
>YOU LEEAVEEE THIS PLACE
>MY LIFE
>THIS EEEEAAARRRRRTTTHHHHHHH!
>LEEEAAAAVEEE HOOOOMMEEEE
>WAKE UP DEAD
>THE PINE TREES SING
>LEEEAAAAVEEEE HOOOOMMMEEEE
>Leave home like third grade students and their backpacks
>Running towards some small escape
>I'm running towards the exit of a university
>Don't look back, don't look back, don't look back
>But I have to
>because it's all I really wanna do
>SOMETIMES WHEN I'M LAYING THERE
>AGAINST MY TREEFORT BED
>IMAGINATION FLOWING THROUGH THE COMFORTER
>THERE ARE SO MANY DIFFERENT SENTENCES
>TRYING TO GET PRODUCED
>WE'LL LOSE OUR MOBILITY
>BEFORE WE FIGURE OUT ITS USE!
>I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMOOOOORRREEEEE
>WATCH THE WORLD JUST SIT AND GRIEVE!
My heart aches just reading these, oh man.
I know right? Such good fucking albums these are the epitome of the genre and I don't think any band (besides TWIABP) comes close to the level these cunts we're on when they made these albums.
Do you know Me In Capris? It's the singers new band, more Americana-influenced but also pretty good.
...you fucking what mate? The singer? In a new band? Since when the fuck was this? Knowing any details about the band, the singer and the album's lyrical content is one of the few things in music that gets me excited. Cunt tell me it's good. Tell me it's fucking good. Desu.
It's very good, don't go in expecting the same level of intensity though.
yeah listening now, it's pretty chill man.
will you ever preserve will you ever EXHUME
will you watch petals shed from their flowers in BLOOM
best Dan Barett track coming through:
youtube.com
>Oh, my love, my ancient son
>angry at everyone
>mouth full of thorns pulled from nature's back
>yeah, we'll never forget that
>Born on an ancient day
>named with an ancient name
>they don't know, they don't care
>they don't notice that you're there
>Oh, my love, my ancient son
>pacing your attic floor
>God's in his church with his guilty spires
>yeah, he's no friend of ours
>Kings of a rising tide
>nursing our wounded sides
>we don't know, we don't care
>we don't notice that you're there
all these and
>THERE ARE MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF STTAAAARRRSSS
>IIINNN YOUR EEEEEEEYYYYYSSSSSS
>In the name of love
>once more in the name of love
fictional events like the Holocaust don't really make me feel desu
>confusions not a candy store in my brain
>if we're miscommunicating, do we feel the same?
>SO CAPTURE ME WHILE I AM WEAKEST
>I WANT TO KNOW
>I WANT TO KNOOOOOOOW
>it gets haaAARDER
>to reeAAALIZE
>it gets haaaaAAAAAAAAAaAaAaAaaAAAAARDER
>oh lady look up in time
>oh lady look out of love
>and you should have us all
>oh, you should have us fall
>IF EVERYONE NEEDS A CRUTCH THEN I NEED A WHEELCHAIR I NEED A REASON TO REASON WITH YOU
overrated

>I don't feel anything where
>this love should be
