Fallout, tried new Vegas and 4 but I can't get more than 5 hours in, I love elder scrolls but I can't explain why I can't get into this series

The show does a LOT for the books in terms of entertainment. Martin tends to droll on, a lot like Tolkein in that respect. The LotR books are a grind, and the Silmarillian reads a HELLUVA lot like a bible for some alternate universe.

The movies though? Breddy gud entertainment.

I don't think overwatch is that great. Yeah it has interesting lore aND backstories but you don't experience it. If it were a one person game and not just another arena shooter I'd like it more. But it's definitely not worth $40 for a cookie utter moba

The show is very well done. I understand why so many people are into it. I watched season 1 when it first aired and thought it was great so I started to read the books. I got a third of the way through book 4 and couldn't do it. At that point there was only a couple characters I didn't hate. Spoiled the show for me.

Along this same vein as this. I just don't fucking like anything Bethesda has released since Fallout NV.

I've probably got ~1.8k hours clocked in Fallout 3 and NV combined.

I've probably got ~1.4k hours ins Morrowing and Oblivion.

I put 30 hours into Skyrim and 40 hours into Fallout 4. I beat em and then tried to go do fun sidequest shit after the main story, but it all just felt so.... cookie cutter. So manufactured. It killed it for me.

This is more true in Fallout 4 than in Skyrim, but I still didn't care too much for Skyrim either.

Maybe I should have done that too. I tried to do the main story first and then go explore the world, but the main story was just god fucking awful in terms of a Fallout game. Every single path leads you to a nearly identical conclusion.

The story was gutted to make room for their voice acted protagonist.

It's superior to Western animation. We don't have the skill or cultural flexibility to show someone flying through the air for five minutes.

I think people just grew up around families who watched it and learned to make it a bonding experience. Also, playing sports as a kid makes you prone to idolize athletes before comic/cartoon characters. Quite understandable.

You know what else is funny about that? McDick's commercials depict people being all happy and singing when they're at McDick's, but if you go there irl, people look pissed off all the time...rough as fuck. You might even see a brawl if you're in the right side of town, and this is all at McDick's.

It's a good story. The acting and effects are fantastic and season 1 has Sean Bean in.. So that's an instant win right there.
