Sure I have. For a time years ago I was close to giving up faith for a completely naturalist view but I can't ever get over the fact that the universe is in fact here and it just doesn't seem to make sense for any of this to exist just because.

That tends to be an issue with some youth pastors. You should try going back to a church that is serious about discipleship you might find its what you need.

I just can't accept the idea that it literally is just here. Didn't come from anywhere and no reasons behind it. Just a bunch of matter and energy following highly complex systems of physical laws. Then somewhere in a small insignificant corner on one of the rocks life pops up and eventually turns into thinking beings that have the capacity to reason and question the existence of it all. I'm not sure I wanted to be a youth pastor lol. It just kind of happened because my church had a need for it and I was the most qualified because of my experience as a leader in my college ministry. I definitely don't have any desire to be a "real" pastor but I will go where God leads me.

Cool, as long as that means you that will actively think about what you want and seek out new opportunities, instead of waiting for "God" to serve them to you on a platter while you spin your wheels forever.

Giving in to lust, sure. That's more on a personal level. Do you masterbate to porn? Then yes, I'm inclined to think that's idolatry and disgracing God by giving in to lust over other women. If you have a wife and need to blow a load after smelling her drawers, I'd be inclined to think it wouldn't be lust in the same fashion. Interesting to think about.

Complicated question kind of. It's wrong to lust. Wrong to let your mind wander into lewd thoughts about women who aren't your wife. But your body is made in such a way that you will ejaculate regularly regardless and it can be beneficial to control the release so it doesn't cause you to become to tempted. It's a grey area but I think there are worse things. Just don't let something control you. Your body belongs to the Holy Spirit and you must maintain control over your freshly desires.

Oh for sure. I'm not one of these people that sits around looking for signs. The way I see it if an opportunity presents itself and I think I can handle it I take it. God is more concerned with our dedication to holiness than every little thing we do in life.

You know what? That's STILL too small. The universe CREATED its own spacetime. Now think about the odds of something happening outside of time. Basically, the universe HAD to come into existence. Something was bound to happen with that amount of not-time.

And many universes could easily have been created and then almost immediately destroyed. The energy released by the big bang created almost equal amounts of matter and anti-matter. Most universes would cancel all that matter out with more energy. MOST, the VAST majority of matter even in our own universe was canceled out very soon after the big bang. It just happens that a slight amount more of matter was created than anti-matter, and that slight amount, comparatively, was enough to create our whole universe.

Why did God kill Onan for spilling his seed on the ground? The reason God did this is not that Onan wasted his seed on the ground but that Onan refused to perform his familial duties of producing offspring for his brother. This was a great offense at the time. Now, we must realize that the culture was very different from what ours is today. In that culture, when a man died and left no children, the next of kin was sometimes obligated to "go in to" the wife and produce children. These children were then considered to be the descendants of the original late husband and would be raised as such. This way, the offspring would be able to take care of the mother, provide more people for the community, and thereby raise their own children---continuing the name of that family. Onan knew this and refused to take part in furthering the honor and name of the brother's wife and thereby also risking provision for her in the future. To this, God was very displeased and took Onan's life.

Idiots? That's kind of harsh. If you think about the trees when you masterbate or, as stated earlier, a wife etc... It's a grey area that cannot be definitively answered. Lust is the issue that surrounds porn and masterbation. We do have to go to some schooling to do what we do. (In some areas at least).
