I'm having PC issues and Tomshardware is slow as fuck, and i browse Sup Forums enough to know i'll just get a lot of hate for asking a tech support question. If any of you guys can help me find or at least at least diagnose the problem, i'll dump the codes for a few humble bundle games (1001 Spikes / Snakebird)

It's not much, but it's all I can give atm. I guess I could dump some porn too i guess.

so here's the problem: since march, my PC has been freezing up at least once a day. the screen will freeze and a loud endless BEEP can be heard from the speakers. It happens randomly and I don't know why. Also, if it doesnt freeze, the sound will cut out and be replaced with this beeping instead. when the sound goes out, I can just put it into sleep mode and wake it up and the problem goes away. I talked to a friend and he said to try updating all my drivers, so I did that and the problem has changed. since yesterday, it has bluescreened twice instead of freezing. I'm worried something may be failing hardware wise or i have some kind of bug or bad files.

specs: pcpartpicker.com/user/PrivateJoker27/saved/hdH48d

let me know if you need any more info. i have some random stuff from the bluescreen crash dump, i don't know if it means anything.

thanks guys.

Try eating a dick

thanks Sup Forums, appreciate the love

i should probably mention i'm using the Windows trial cracked with Daz Loader. I don't think it's the problem though, as i've had the PC for over 2 years with no issues until this march.

Eat some more dicks

you ok buddy? wanna talk about it?

...

I think its something with your RAM sticks. I started getting pretty much the same issue until suddenly my computer didn't start at all. I knew it was the ram sticks (they are not officially supported by my MB) so I simply removed them, cleaned the connections, put 1 of them in then booted up. It worked, so I turned it off, put 1 more in, booted. It worked as well, so I put all 4 in, calibrated speed and voltage and now it runs great again.

I don't know your specs since my shitty iStone didn't approve of the link, but I don't think it matters. Also, I'm running low on battery, I might not be around to answer any eventual question. Sorry, man. Good luck.

no problem, appreciate the help anyways.

if you are able to reply, did you try memtest? someone told me to try it and find out if it was my ram and i ran through it and it never found any errors.

Your RAM is fucked. I had the exact same problem and it was due to a faulty stick of RAM. Remove one stick at a time until you find the faulty one.

What were the bluescreen messages?

i only have 1 8GB stick, it's Crucial Ballistix. I have some generic ram sticks in my old PC, do you think I can just swap them out and see if that's the problem? do i need to do anything in BIOS or can i just turn the pc off and swap out?

The ram has to be compatable with your mobo.
But yeah just pop them in and out its easy. Make sure power cord is removed from power supply.

Ram or ps. Also a cracked copy is bad op go to linux

Might be a temp problem. Install speedfan and see what everything is running at

I was also thinking power supply too. I've had problems like this in the past (blue screens, high-pitched whining, freezing, etc) due some very annoying brownouts.

how can i find out what it's compatible with? the ram in my old PC isn't labeled, it was some generic consumer HP pc.

mobo is MSI Z97 G55.

i'm not familiar with any other operating systems besides windows. isn't there very limited compatibility for programs and vidya games with linux?

I would kill my best friend to fuck her

will do

i have heard that from an IRL friend i asked as well. it's a bronze certified, which he said isn't that great and will have a shorter lifespan. it's also EVGA which he scoffed at, i thought they were an alright brand.

i feel you

Does she have any nudes?

You're mom

anything catch your eye?

not that i know of, just a lot of delicious slutty pictures. there's one that's a side-by-side with a nude but there's no face so it's probably fake

probably fake sadly

>it's a bronze certified
>which he said isn't that great and will have a shorter lifespan
He's right. Its go up to platinum or diamond or some shit in terms of effective ranking for a PSU. But if the problem is a brownout, a regular PSU, no matter how good, will eventually have problems. You would need something like an uninteruptable PSU.

Due to some extensive time spent in the camwhore threads on /soc/, I can tell you with 100% certainty that the tits belong to a camwhore named Layne.

well brownouts are not rare in my house, i live on a ranch that has fucking shit power. i actually used to get regular power outages but i bought a APC battery backup to stop it. it's plugged into that now. so is the problem leaning more towards PSU now? or maybe both?

also there's no compatibility issues with power supplies right? i have my old one from my old PC i could try swapping out and seeing if that solves it.

I actually didn't even bother running a memory test, but friends with the same problem said "Can't be ram, memtest said nothing was wrong" but it turned out to be the RAM anyways.

Also, regarding the RAM from your other PC: If those sticks fit in the slot(s) of the blue screening PC they are compatible enough to give a shit or two.

>APC battery
Is the thing built to withstand the actual amount of voltage fluctuation that your outlet provides? I ask because the things are great as long as you have the right one for the job.
Another question; How old is the APC battery?

>so is the problem leaning more towards PSU now? or maybe both?
Dunno. I'm just speculating. What you've told me sounds like it could be the problem.

>also there's no compatibility issues with power supplies right?
As long as you are supplying your rig with enough electricity it should be okay. (It is correctly connected to everything it needs to be connected right?)

>swapping out
Just make sure it has enough power for everything else in your current rig or you'll run the chance of potentially damaging something

Damn I want to impregnate her so much

lmao, good to clear that up. second pic is possible because of the bit of face in the corner still though, dreams not totally crushed

good to know, thank you.

i'll try the power supply and ram from my old computer (separately so i can know which it is) and then act accordingly. PSU has a 5 year warranty so i could get it replaced but idk if i want to go back to it if it's the problem. with the RAM i'll just get new sticks from different brand for sure.

appreciate the help so far guys, here's one of those indie games as a little bit of thanks

No problem, man. Good luck with it. I'll leave the game to somebody with decent internet connection. I'm on 4G for the rest of the summer, so downloading is expensive.
It's almost 5 am here so I'm off to bed.
Again, good luck, bro.

yeah, its load capacity is 865W and my PSU is 800W, don't think i've ever maxed it out though. i made sure to get the best one they had.

yeah everything is connected fine, i had a friend who was very good at building PCs help me set it up the first time. it's been 2 years of working perfectly with maybe 1 or 2 crashes ever until march, where it's nearly been once every time i turn it on.

>Just make sure it has enough power for everything else in your current rig or you'll run the chance of potentially damaging something

could be a problem. it's only 400W and the rest of my rig is pretty powerful. gtx 970, 8GB of ram, i5. should i just go to Best Buy and find something around 500 or 600 and then return it? lol. could do the same with RAM actually.

would def want carrying my children

i feel you man, my internet is shit too. i just luckily have unlimited data still so i tether 24/7 lol.

night man.

You have 2 audio drivers and one sucks and messes with your other drivers. If you have a nvidia graphics card, uninstall the HD audio driver (from nvidia).

>it's only 400W and the rest of my rig is pretty powerful.
400W is fine for just testing if the PSU is your problem. Just don't go overclocking it or anything.

>its only 400w
Take your GPU out and just use your on-board graphics from your MoBo. After that, you should be in the clear.

Once again, speculation and I'm running out to eat so read your documentation on what all needs power etc etc

Good luck

actually i might have 3 audio drivers

i have a creative labs sound card, the realtek HD, and the nvidia audio. i had to get the soundcard because i fucked up the motherboard sound, all i get is static after i tried installing a firewire port into my mobo. i'll try nvidia ones first.

oh ok, cool i'll give that a try first then.

will do, i appreciate all the help, this one thread has helped me immensely more than weeks on forums and asking irl friends. have a good meal user!

just another cause shes perfect

Second pic is also someone else, don't remember who

kinda figured. at least she's got plenty of good non nude material still
