Here is the exact steps needed:
1- go to the doctor and tell him that you get this feeling of extreme fear and paranoia at random times every day and night
2- (important) tell him that it wakes you up at night and makes it near impossible for you to sleep
3- he is going to prescribe you an SSRI like Efexor or Prozac (DO NOT TAKE THESE PILLS)
4- after one week on the SSRI's, call the doctor and tell him you have been getting Vertigo from the SSRI's and your anxiety has gotten worse, request an earlier appointment
5- at this next appointment, tell him you need a medication that immediately relieves you of your panic attacks until you find an SSRI that works properly. (INSIST on a rapid releasing medication)
(DO NOT ASK FOR XANAX OR ANY BENZOS)
6- once he agrees to give you an emergency medication (klonopin/xanax) tell him you want to try a different SSRI, he will prescribe you seroquil or something.(DONT TAKE THE SSRI)
7- wait another week, call the doctor and tell him that your emergency medication is working miracles, however, the SSRI is still giving you vertigo
8- next appointment, tell him you would like more of the emergency medication because it works so well for your problem.
(if he refuses to write you more, then find a new doctor, now that you have a prescription for xanax, it stays on your ecord and now you can doctor shop for a doctor willing to write you more.
congrats, you have a new found addiction that will ruin your life (i was addicted o benzos for 3 years because it helped me in social situations, WORST WITHDRAWALS OF MY LIFE.)
good luck!
