Because it has everything classic arena shooters like Q3 and UT had, but with interesting class balance, an actual goal next to killing, and none of the things which make competing games like MOBAs so fucking awful. Only thing missing imo is CTF.
People who hate on it either haven't played it (remarkable how many people I know who complain about it yet if I ask them why I can tell they haven't seen more than a video), or have no friends. With friends this is the most fun I've had since LAN parties in the 00's.
