The Cure - Disintegration should be on that list too.

pornography is darker

I don't think so, this is more like euro-goth/darkwave/black metal/industrial.

Op's suggesting american indie-type Sup Forums critically acclaimed/circlejerked bands, that have dark/minor key sounding music of many genres within the framework of 'indie".

>Listening to Only Theatre of Pain right now
>was just about to listen to Pornography next

Damn, this list is 10/10. I've already heard nearly half of them but definitely gonna check the rest out.

Definitely missing Scott Walker and Iggy Pop - The Idiot though. And I'm not sure if I'd call Treasure /dark/, Garlands or Head over Heels would be better choices.

Far from their best, but it's definitely dark.

the chart is/was for the /dark/ generals, which is basically the post-punk/goth general

that cloud nothings album isn't especially dark

La Dispute - Wildlife

Suggest some albums/artists

Mostly saddest of all time, but pretty dark as well

>no whitehouse
:(

Eh, I think White Light From the mouth of infinity needs to be replaced on that album by The Seer. The Seer is ten times darker than anything else they've released.
