I'm sure they do for awhile, especially if they ate a lot of fats or processed garbage before suddenly making changes to their diet. It wouldn't shock me if they showed some real health and wellness gains until their fat reserves ran out.

i was fat when i started and went vegan for 6 months. Lost weight obviously and felt great. I stopped because its a lot of work.

the thing is, it seems like every vegan says that. i cant say for sure, the most i ever did was vegetarian (no eggs either) for a few months. i did loose a fair amount of weight.

I agree with this guy but it's not only about animal fat, they start to losing iron and animal protein too

yes, i used to be sick all the time till i went all raw,(was a junktarian for most of my life) got better, now i eat cooked food sometimes, like rice, but still 100% vegan, no complaints

I am not vegan, but I rarely eat meat. Since I changed my diet I have felt very very good. I am more rested, fit and excited. My depression went away and I was able to control more of my emotions. Changing my diet has also taught me self control which has transferred into being a better athlete and headstrong. I love 40 pounds and, again, I became more active. Whenever I eat meat i immediately see the difference. The way my stomach feels, how horrible my poop is, and the taste. Meat is starting to become less and less appealing. Not to say it's not good or someone shouldn't eat it.

If you avoid processed food (don't be a vegan that eats at McDonald's) and exercise you'll feel great

Not vegan, but pescetarian? (I don't really eat fish; I prefer bivalves and crustaceans) for about a month and a half now. I feel a lot healthier, my shit isn't as greasy, and learning so much about cooking is helping my mental well-being. It's a really fun hobby, and nutritious too. I've lost 10 pounds, and my depressive episodes haven't been as severe (am bipolar). This was actually the main reason I cut out most meats. I'd recommend going pescitarian/vegetarian for the health benefits OP. Not vegan though

People also make a bit of a fuss, so that can be annoying. I'm always reminded of the fact that I'm trying a new diet by friends/family even though I never mention it. Sure it'll fade though. 8/10 OP
