Post some of your favourite pop albums. This is a chill thread. No noe gives a shit if you think pop is meaningless commercial trite or a sign that consumers will inevitably become mindless drones for the big corporations. Seriously, fuck off if you start that shit.
My choice: Hot Fuss by The Killers. Honestly, if it's not a work of indie rock or post-punk then it's a hell of a pop album, and that's not even including the singles. "On Top" stands out.
Joshua Barnes
Boring, generic radio rock shi*e
Nicholas Jenkins
I like "Jenny was a friend of mine" and "Andy, you're a star"
Austin Fisher
Pop is meaningless, commercial, trite, and a sign that consumers will inevitably become mindless drones for the big corporations.
Mr. Brightside is an alright song
Elijah Morris
...
Nicholas Jackson
Best pop album of this decade so far desu
Logan Adams
...
Luke Phillips
why are pop metal bands so much better at pop music than pop musicians without guitars? that might not qualify for this thread but /metal/ would laugh at me it's got to be the contrast but there's not a lot of harsh in this album at all
Hunter Mitchell
Tears for Fears is the obvious choice for good pop artists here, right?
Austin Hill
underrated album from this year, idk why this didn't cause them to blow up production is superb and there's these odd, proggy harmonies, combined with their snark i'd liken them to steely dan but they're working with a totally different type of pop
William James
wow spooky trips also is that seriously a flying penis
Ayden Wilson
What is pop music though? Seems like everyone has conflicting opinions on what should or shouldn't be considered pop.
Anyway, I'll go with Sufjan's Illinois
Henry Lopez
when did y'all accept you'd never find anything better than this?
Justin Jones
Short, sweet, and ready to fuck your eardrums in more than one way.
Wyatt Watson
If you consider it pop then yes Good pop, but this album is overrated to tarnation on this board
Leo Smith
*you'd never find anything worse than this
Liam James
...
Hunter Murphy
sams town was better, but still a good album though op. nice to see some other music being posted here rather than the generic handful of albums everyone tosses eachother off over
Logan Ross

Elijah Smith
It was a hard choice between HF and ST, not gonna lie. Yeah, it's interesting to see what people listen to outside of Sup Forums-approved stuff. It's quite refreshing.
Carter Hernandez
+1. This is 'art pop' at its finest.
Ethan Garcia
Don't even try to deny the coolness of this album
This was the soundtrack of multiple virginities lost around the world
Owen Morgan
this is an experimental rock/art rock/progressive rock masterpiece, NOT pop music
Jonathan Hall
I think he's using the definition "it sold a lot and therefore it's popular" of pop music
Zachary Walker
Fun fact: if you lower the pitch of her songs, she sounds like George Michael
Second fun fact: it doesn't work the other way
Ayden Campbell
everything sounds the same and I'm a huge pleb so this is even worse coming from me
Brayden Evans
You admit you're a pleb lmao how does your opinion matter?
Jack Allen
Sigh... Another pop thread. I realize this place has always been bad, but we're hitting new lows every day.
Cooper Rivera

Josiah Ortiz
This was my AOTY before Jeff Rosenstock's record came out
Isaiah Young

Jaxson Watson

Bentley Sanders
literally the best mainstream pop album of the decade
Nathaniel Morris
maybe he's talking about the time that thom yorke said "we make pop music"
Landon Lewis
I've always liked Lana Del Ray and her themes of Americana. I know it wasn't on the album but the sound "Ride" is epic as fuck
Dylan Long
>pop
It's pop-punk
but it's fucking amazing either way.
Jaxon Davis
Is it fair to say that this is a pop-rap album? It's phenomenal, in my opinion it's the best fusion of great rapping and poppy beats I've ever heard. Favorite song is Encore.
Xavier Green
Patrician pop coming through
Nathan Ortiz

Isaiah Lewis
Is Grammy award winning band arcade fire pop? They have some good albums.

John Allen
not a huge fan desu, though i can appreciate some of his work
Luis Bennett
GOOD choice
John White
My vote goes for this. Ben Gibbard and Jenny Lewis kill it on vocals while Dntel does a good job with the glitchy electronic pop production.
Charles Butler

Jason Thomas

Never listened to them except for their remix of Tame Impala - 'Cause I'm a Man It's fucking god-tier though, almost as great as the original.
Jackson Cook

Justin Torres

Christopher Nelson
>MOM! I did the thing again!
Dylan Parker
Probably my AotY t.b.h.
Nathan Russell
I really liked Born To Die and Paradise was good too but everything afterwards just sounded like a parody of herself with everything that made BTD good removed. I'll never understand why people like Ultraviolence and whatever the new one is called so much more.
Brandon Bell
...
Noah Martinez
...
Benjamin Morales
seconded. I wish Flamingo was on it though.
Aiden Howard
I love this album.
I'm not even bent, and I know it's just pure style over substance, but theres's something nice and melancholic about it. Like those old James Bond songs where someone just romantically sings hopelessly into the void.
Colton Nelson
i like those and i kinda like hot fuss too
Cooper Fisher
...
Zachary White
its right there on the cover
Julian Campbell
Depends on the source of hate. People either hate AM for being actually cool " bluesy greaser rawk", or because half of the people in here got cuckes to some of the songs
Someone posted a while back about his girlfriend sucking some guys dick to Arabella lol
