Yo muso bros, what audio interface are you guys using? Looking to get a new one, have read Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 is a good one.

Play heavy stuff, clean vocals, yelling/screaming?

Focusrite makes pretty good audio interfaces. I would recommend rolling with a Thunderbolt or Firewire interface if you can though.

Also how many inputs are you needing? Are you trying to record a full drum set?

Drums are done in Canada (I'm in Australia) so I just do vocals and guitar/bass... 2 outputs is the most I'd need, but there's so many options.

Currently using Mbox 3 but it's had it's day and I need to replace it...

I also have a bit more of a budget so I'm curious what's out there... the pro tools quartet looks cool but that's a stretch financially from the Focusrite

Just roll with the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 then. It's widely supported. In fact, I'm currently using one on my mobile setup. Works like a charm.

Nice, yeah, that model keeps popping up as super reliable.

I hear the 2i4 is a better bang for the buck, and doesn't have the lower-threshold clipping issue
never had a problem with mine

focusrite good for vocals. go for it if you are ok with the i/o

I am currently having an issue with clipping vocals on the Mbox 3.

How is the Focusrite on guitars?

I have the scarlett 2i2. worked flawless for about one year by now.

Damn!

I'm reading more reviews that people are saing they're getting clipping problems with focusrite, are you having any of these issues?

currently beta testing for focusrites Clarett on windows. Using yhe 8PreX in the studio and the ur22 as my portable unit. The D-Pres blow the scarlet series out of the water, but the claretts transistor modeling circuit is the shit

Currently using motu microbook 1st edition, it is actually good. Have recorded demo using it

M Audio M Track II. Works for me

Looks awesome. Been reading a few good things about the UR22 as well

this right here i hated apogee for so long once i went hd i never looked back

If you're looking for an affordable interface, its amazing. I worked on mine for a good 6 years now, produced some popular stuff with it.

do you have any samples? Don't care about the style, just listening to vocals/guitars right now.

Anything there was done with the UR22
The vocals from "Chicas" was done in a practoce room with an NT1A and the UR22. I didn't have the luxury of driving to the studio that day

I'm using the Scarlett Solo, but to be honest the Roland Tricapture worked the smoothest for me

Fuck, not bad dude... I'm using a Rhodes NTK, so this might work.

Thanks brotha, and im sure you'll get it to sound good. If not, invest in an ART MPA and VLA. Those are cheat codes for hardware, come out of the box sounding great, and they cost hardly anything compared to the 710Ds n shit. Believe it or not, I find myself using the ART stuff more often than the UA shit.

Thanks dude!
