True Crime stories you want to see adapted into a film

I want to see a movie on the Golden State Killer, also known as the east area rapist or original night stalker

>Raped 50 women
>Killed 10
>Never caught

Heres a voice mail he left one of his victims a few days after she was raped

youtube.com/watch?v=jdElYnd-xMo

I would want to see it done im a similar manner and style to Fincher's Zodiac.

You just want to see 50 women get raped on screen. Fuck off you you misogynist.

...

off topic, but i wonder how many active serial killers there are in the united states today. and how many the police know about. newspapers probably won't write as much about it these days as they did in the past, with giving them nicknames and stuff, for obvious reasons.

>for obvious reasons
These obvious reasons aren't obvious to me explain them?

>Fuck off you you misogynist.

Why are there so many serial killers in america?
Did all the psychos come over from Europe to escape their reputation, and once there they blended in in the pot of class and racial mixing, causing their genes to spread?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Fish

harvey glatman maybe.

I'd like to see this too, this guy was a real jerk

I miss the 90s when well made crime movies were made regularly. The genre has moved to TV.

If you can't turn it into a cinematic universe then the big studios don't seem to give a fuck anymore.

...

There is at least one made by uwe boll

If you consider mob hitmen to be serial killers, thousands.

Il mostro di Firenze.

Not that guy, but probably fame seeking freaks and copycat killers.

>mfw the victims confirmed he had a micropenis

They are making one with Dicaprio I believe

>mfw i knew this was coming

>i wonder how many active serial killers there are in the united states today

One of them was just running for president not too long ago

Different guy, but primarily to not give them publicity. They feed off the attention thus killing more people at some point this.

Also, this is fucking RIPE for a horror film: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinterkaifeck_murders?wprov=sfsi1

>A few days prior to the crime, farmer Andreas Gruber told neighbors about discovering footprints in the snow leading from the edge of the forest to the farm, but none leading back. He also spoke about hearing footsteps in the attic and finding an unfamiliar newspaper on the farm. Furthermore, the house keys went missing several days before the murders. None of this was reported to the police prior to the attack.

>Six months earlier, the previous maid had left the farm, claiming that it was haunted; the new maid, Maria Baumgartner, arrived on the farm on the day of the attack and was killed hours later.

>Exactly what happened on that Friday evening cannot be said for certain. It is believed that the older couple, as well as their daughter Viktoria, and her daughter, Cäzilia, were all lured into the barn one by one, where they were killed. The perpetrator(s) then went into the house where they killed two‑year‑old Josef, who was sleeping in his cot in his mother's bedroom, as well as the maid, Maria Baumgartner, in her bedchamber.

>The day after the discovery of the bodies, court physician Johann Baptist Aumüller performed the autopsies in the barn. It was established that a mattock was the most likely murder weapon and that the younger Cäzilia had been alive for several hours after the assault. Lying in the straw, next to the bodies of her grandparents and her mother, she had torn her hair out in tufts. The corpses were beheaded, and the skulls sent to Munich, where clairvoyants examined them, but to no avail.

No that's H.H Holmes.

no that's hh holmes, which in my opinon will be more interesting. although i'm not sure if that's still on.

Why does he wear the mask?

Could be an excellent movie, it's shame DiCaprio is the one who snatched up the rights.

according to various testimonies, he's apparently a not so big guy

Id really like to see more old true crime stories, Like 1800s and back. How they had to get creative to track murderers and criminals back then would be interesting if they could make it accurate

I would like to see one about LSD fueled murder communes with members who operate like POD people. They are indistinguishable from the general hippy rablle until they are activated by a trigger or encountering their target. The protagonist would be an ex-nam guy hiding out in the counter culture from the government and the demons of his past, never sure if he is currently being stalked by an MK-ULTRA drone or just experiencing the typical spoopy happenings of the counterculture circa 1970s.

It would be like a mix between kill list and it follows.

Corvette driver?

most reports say 40-50, they just don't get popular anymore because
>a lot of people think they don't happen any more and it was a 70s and 80s thing
>DNA and CSI tech makes it easy to catch them
>every police department has said CSI experts at their disposal
>people (mainly the media) tends to focus on certain crimes of the decade and give them hype. Currently terrorist attacks and mass shooters are the "thing": right now

south America holds the record actually, and other places in Asia have a spotty history with keeping records

>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Servant_Girl_Annihilator
> Servant Girl Annihilator

What's his name again?

>DAN and CSI makes it easy to catch them
I should have put people THINK it makes it easy to catch them. Which it does, but not every LEO agency has access to quality equipment like that

>tfw no la cosa nostra cinematic universe
>no hardboiled detective cinematic universe
>no film noir cinematic universe
>no serial killer vs detective thriller cinematic universe

I used to have a good list of runaways who were found dead in the 1970s dumped along the rust belt with evidence linking their disposal to a single team or groups with similar methods. Several of the dump scenes were later forensically connected by a forensic cold case organization.

The group or person who did it wasn't even recognized as a single entity until 30 years later. pretty spoopy stuff.

>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedro_López_(serial_killer)

>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Garavito

>prisoners
>zodiac
>the lovely bones
>the snowman (coming out soon)

there are still good ones being made. Id rather only have some really good ones that have it be over done

I'd really like a movie or series about all the turn of the century axe murders, especially the Villisca house murders.

>family butchered in their home one Sunday night
>two of the neighbor kids spending the night were killed too
>it's theorized that the actual killer was never caught, though a few confessed

All sorts of theories about the killers identity, some alluding to a sinister conspiracy tied to a Senator, others tying it to similar axe murders that were carried out throughout the mid west around the same time frame, possibly including the New Orleans axe killer as well.

Central America is a little different, the entire isthmus is a war zone.

Robert Berdella maybe.
>Todd Stoops, 21, June 17, 1986: Kidnapped due to Berdella being "sexually frustrated" with him. The torture he endured prior to his death included electric shocks via a spatula placed across his eyelid in an unsuccessful attempt to blind him. Stoops died of a combination of blood loss and infection on July 1
>Larry Wayne Pearson, 20, June 23, 1987: Held captive until August 5. Pearson was killed by suffocation after six weeks of captivity, which included having a piano wire tied around his wrists with the intention of causing nerve damage. His head was kept and buried in Berdella's garden.

Also he photographed his stuff, so it won't be difficult to attain accuracy.

why do you guys know so much about serial killers

why is this shit so common is the better question?

what kind of life do you have to lead to grow into something like that?

what's the name of that american girl that got kidnapped in front of her sister early morning in the early 00's?

and that case where a dude kidnapped 3 different chicks for years?

Im trying to find it, but this guy and his partner were running some kind of white slavery/sadistic prostitution business. It involved a 40 minute orientation video for the victims whereby one of the guys explains their duties and the general rules.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Lake

There is a full reenactment of that orientation video that i'm having a hard time finding, but its very interesting to watch. For these guys it was clearly some kind of business that was spun as pure sadism.

As far as motivation beyond money, one of them was ex-military. Desensitization probably played a part.

>had an obsession with pornography that stemmed from taking nude photos of his sisters, apparently with the encouragement of his grandmother.
>It was also alleged that Lake extorted sexual favors from his sisters.
>as a child he enjoyed collecting mice and killing them by dissolving them in chemicals
>During his two tours of duty in the Vietnam War time period, Lake was first diagnosed with schizoid personality disorder.
>Following a spell in Da Nang, he suffered a delusional breakdown and was sent home.
>Lake was eventually given a medical discharge in 1971 and underwent psychotherapy.
>Lake married in 1975, but the marriage dissolved quickly because his wife found out that he was making and appearing in amateur pornographic movies, usually involving bondage or sadomasochism.
>Lake was obsessed with the hippie lifestyle in San Francisco and increasingly with the idea of an impending nuclear holocaust.

no one was surprised he turned out to be a serai killer.

Its fun

Damn man I was trying really hard to find the vocal reenactment I heard because its a bit TL;DR but I can only find a textual transcript now.
thinkingaboutphilosophy.blogspot.no/2012/10/david-parker-rays-audio-tape-transcript.html

If you have the patience he basically lays out that he is using the viewer of the tape as a sexual object for the enjoyment of his clientele. He also indicates that his neighbors are in on what he does up there so she shouldn't expect to be freed by seeking help from nearby homes.

They never were implicated by anybody on the mountain.

Where do you suppose he got the cyanide capsule he used to commit suicide in custody?

Alright nevermind, I found it.
youtube.com/watch?v=gV8EPMeu1X8

The confusing thing is that this guy used a phrase that the other guy I linked used in his own video recording, almost verbatim.

>Leonard Lake
>David Parker Rays

you're dumb, even without considering the tinfoil bullshit

Zodiac was almost a decade ago.

They both had orientation videos where they explained the duties of their captives as sex slaves to be tortured, and used the phrase 'we are pretty cold hearted'. That's where my confusion arose.

Take it for what you will.

>>It was also alleged that Lake extorted sexual favors from his sisters.

this is my dream but i don't have sisters

trust me, if you had sisters, you probably wouldn't dream of it. unless you're like him of course.

It's extremely common. Well, the dreaming, not so much the doing.

how do you know?

Every porn site that divides by category, incest is among the larger categories. Every porn search-engine list, 'mom' and 'sister' are in the top thirty searches, often in the top ten. Every 'confession' site has large numbers of people talking about it.

From what I can make out, it's mostly a phase of early adolescence that peters out, persisting in some as a fetish.

I guarantee you most of the people who like incest shit don't actually have siblings.

Just like most of the people who are into BBC porn would fly into a psychotic rage if they found out they were getting cucked IRL.

>I guarantee you most of the people who like incest shit don't actually have siblings.

What makes you so sure? And do most of them not have mothers, either?

Like I said, it seems to persist in some people as a fetish, at which point they're clearly no longer specifically interested in their own relatives.

I use myself as an example: I find mother incest shit disgusting, even the fake stuff. Sibling/father daughter is hot. I don't have a sister or a daughter.

Pretty much all incest themed porn I can actually relate to is grotesque, while the purely fantastical is hot af.

>I use myself as an example

So why should I care? You're a single data point, I'm basing this on far broader observations that don't derive solely from assuming that everyone is exactly like me.

What are your broader observations based on?

I have one data point, you've presented exactly none.

Is this now an incest thread?
I have fapped to incest porn for years but I feel no attraction towards my own mother or sister.

Two data points now, suck it bitch

>What are your broader observations based on?

I told you, search engine data, confession sites, even online communities. There's an entire plebbit sub-community dedicated to the fetish. This is why, as I say, my impression is that for some devotees at least, the fascination began at home, so to speak.

Beyond that, why do you think I'm arguing with you? I fapped like hell to both of my sisters in my early teens.

They need to make a movie of you mustering up the self awareness to stop making this thread.

...

Probably the same amount as ever. Throughout history, there will always be a small percentage of psycopaths. Just imagine serial killers in ancient Rome and stuff, I bet they were rarely ever caught.

But I think now the media has discretely agreed not to publicize it anymore in order to discourage it.

m8 number 1 there's a huge degree of 'dear penthouse' fantasizing going on in communities specifically geared towards incest shit. Secondly there is an observable psychological affect that causes a person to be repelled by the idea of incest with their actual relatives that applies to most human beings. It stands to reason that the consumption of incest porn is driven on average by a group that skews slightly towards the mean with a smaller subset of extreme fetishists, given how many people are interested in it.

Since self-reported data is fundamentally suspect here, basic rationality founded on valid assumptions that are derived from demonstrations of the Westermarck effect in controlled studies justifies the conclusion that most people who like incest porn are likely not as interested in incest porn that emulates real relationships they have with actual relatives.

If you have a problem with rational suppositions based on actual scientific findings in lieu of the non-existent data for this specific question then discussion of this hypothetical question breaks down entirely to personal opinion.

sauce

Pic related.

It's way more complicated than that, I read about in a book called Brainwash by Dominic Streatfeild. Streatfeild argues, IIRC, that Hardrup actually planned in advance to pretend to have been brainwashed and effectively framed the guy he said brainwashed him. There's a Danish wiki on the guy but I don't speak Dane.

Bleh, forgot pic.

>la cosa nostra cinematic universe

I never realized I wanted this until right this moment.

My cousin.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Herbert_Wallace

Why hasn't the BBC funded this already?

Who /lastpodcastontheleft/ here?

I'm sorry you forgot your pic, man. It makes the post lose all impact and damage control won't help at all.

My grandma fucking loves Domino's because she can keep the delivery guy talking and feel happy to see someone. I have heard her talking about it with her friends, and picked up some tips.

1. Never order ice cream because it can melt and limit the talking window
2. Never order a large because it implies you have hungry family waiting and the delivery guy might leave faster
3. Never order personal because the delivery guy will suspect what is happening
4. Get the most awkwardly shaped sides so that the pizza guy can't really see you and your lonely eyes
5. The 'New Yorker', 'Hawaiian' and 'Texas BBQ' are the best to order because the names allow you to talk about your travels to the delivery man
6. Don't order brownies or cookies because 'happy' grandmas make them for their grandkids and they will know you are lonely if ordering them

Feel bad for her but she stinks

Life and times of Ned Kelly and the Kelly Gang.

They're annoying faggots tbqh

>Secondly there is an observable psychological affect that causes a person to be repelled by the idea of incest with their actual relatives that applies to most human beings.

The Westermarck effect captures long-term mating choices, ie, who you decide to marry and have kids with. That has literally nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

This kind of first-principles based reasoning should lead us to suppose nobody ever molests their children. Well, spoiler alert, people do that horrifyingly often, evolutionary mechanisms be damned. How much more often do you suppose people WANT to do that?

After fathers and stepfathers, a girl's brother is the most likely in her social circle to abuse her sexually. And again, how much more often do you suppose they WANT to do that?

>no serial killer version of Suicide Squad with Dhamer, John Wayne Gacy, Richard Ramirez, Ted Krazinsky and BTK sent by the Devil to bring HH Holmes back to hell

There is already a movie about Ned Kelly
It's shit

These are mostly really sad but 5 is pretty funny. I don't understand 4.
You should spend more time with your poor grandma.

My post was accompanied with wrong pasta in order to teach the guy a lesson.

...

There's like 10 movies about him and they all fucking suck. The latest had orlando bloom and heath ledger.

For real?

>in order to teach the guy a lesson.

Weird, I kind of read it as tangentially related to mind control. It's definitely social engineering at least.

Isn't that a fruit?

No, it leads us to suppose that molesting relatives is an uncommon occurrence relative to the population as a whole, which is reality.

The consumption of incest porn definitely outstrips the incidence of actual incestuous activity in the general population. Without swerving into absolutes, it can be said that on the whole consumers of incest porn are more likely to not have genuine incestuous feelings (i.e. towards specific real-world relatives) than they are to have persistent urges towards real individuals. That doesn't exclude people who want to fuck their actual daughter/sister/mom/dad, it just acknowledges that >50% of incest porn users have a normative sexual template.

Even if 1/5 men harbor lasting desires to fuck an immediate relative, the high rate of incest porn consumption implies a much larger swath of people taking interest.

>these artists arguing about if people fapping to incest porn are actually incestuous
kill
your
selves

this book was interesting and had a shit ton of stories they could make and a lot in the califronia bay area where I live. During the 60s/70s there were a ton running around.

Kind of off topic but thats why in Lost Boys that area in the movie was called murder capitol of the world

>The consumption of incest porn definitely outstrips the incidence of actual incestuous activity in the general population.

No duh bro, my first post on the subject specified that acting on the desire is way unusual, even among those who experience the desire.

>Without swerving into absolutes, it can be said that on the whole consumers of incest porn are more likely to not have genuine incestuous feelings

This is reasonable, but only because people don't generally look at porn because they're horny for this one person. People who are horny for this one person typically think about that person and jack it.

>That doesn't exclude people who want to fuck their actual daughter/sister/mom/dad, it just acknowledges that >50% of incest porn users have a normative sexual template.

Well, firstly you're begging the question that sexual attraction to relatives is in fact outside the normal scope of sexuality. Secondly, you don't seem to be listening when I tell you that it's a phase people go through, that they don't spend their entire lives pining for their sister or whoever. That would be so far outside the range of normal developmental psychology in itself - I mean, think about some chick you crushed on at 14. You can barely remember what she looks like, right? You keep conflating the passing interest with the fully developed fetish.

>lasting desires

I never said jack about 'lasting', bro. I've been saying the complete opposite.

>No, it leads us to suppose that molesting relatives

And because I missed this, again, no, the Westermarck effect literally does not capture either sexual desire or sexual activity. That's not what it deals with and it's useless to invoke it when talking about such things.

Andre Chikatillo, I believe he had the highest known kill count for serial killers. Murdered, tortured, raped and ate a lot of people.

I'm excited for that Dicaprio movie that's coming out about the guy that made a building full of torture rooms and stuff. Basically real life Saw.

>you don't seem to be listening when I tell you that it's a phase people go through,
Are you talking about freudian-tier phase as in a young male's pubescent attraction to his own mother?

To clarify, I used the word 'lasting' because I am presuming that we are talking about adults, not adolescents or people experiencing a developmental attraction to a relative (accepting that as a real phase of sexual development for the sake of argument).

Would you not agree that the majority of people consuming incest porn are adults, or that your denial of a lasting attraction is an implicit acknowledgement that the average adult male who has completed all stages of sexual development does not have a particular propensity for true incestuous feelings?

If you disagree with that, in what sense are you saying incestuous desires are 'non-lasting'? To me the transient nature of an incestuous attraction during sexual development axiomatically anticipates an ensuing period of sexual maturity lacking incestuous desires as well.

If you read that guy's story the evidence for his 'torture house' is actually very tentative, and was developed in an ad-hoc way after he was busted by the Pinkertons for trying to run a life insurance scam.

>Are you talking about freudian-tier phase as in a young male's pubescent attraction to his own mother?

I'm not talking about anything Freudian, I'm saying a lot of dudes go through a phase of wanting to bang their sisters. Possibly their mothers in some cases, though I suspect that's less common.

>To clarify, I used the word 'lasting' because I am presuming that we are talking about adults, not adolescents or people experiencing a developmental attraction to a relative

What I'm saying is that many people who harbour an incest fetish experienced these attractions in their youth. Some people find a cartoon character attractive - most of them grow out of it and some of them don't, but even those who don't aren't still fapping to the same cartoon character twenty years later.

>Would you not agree that the majority of people consuming incest porn are adults

I don't know how to respond to this. The vast majority of people consuming porn of all kinds are adults, simply because there are more adults than there are people old enough to consume porn but also young enough not to be adults.

>an implicit acknowledgement that the average adult male who has completed all stages of sexual development does not have a particular propensity for true incestuous feelings?

There's nothing implicit about it, man. My second post on the subject:
>From what I can make out, it's mostly a phase of early adolescence that peters out, persisting in some as a fetish.

>If you disagree with that, in what sense are you saying incestuous desires are 'non-lasting'?

In the sense that guys generally stop wanting to bang their sisters, even if they continue fapping to the thought of siblings banging. I don't know what's so complicated about this concept.

i wanna see a film about db cooper, except the script should take some serious liberties. all true storie films are just inspired by the truth but i think itd be cool if they invented a story for it (but keep it mystifying yknow)))

Nothing is complicated about it. That's exactly what i've been saying. My point was also that the majority of consumers of incest porn are into the purely abstract concept of incest with a class of relative. We are saying the same thing, but you are making a point about the origin of their abstract interest in incest shit. I am only saying that presently, most people like incest porn for the taboo, not because they are projecting an existing attraction to their actual relatives.

sometimes I think about what it would be like to be a serial killer just for fun haha

haha

Then I don't know why you started disagreeing with me, but OK, whatevs.
