/Tdf/ General - Stage 2

NO MULTIPLE THREADS Edtion
Saint-Lô - Cherbourg-Octeville, 182 km
That final climb is right in the overlap between two Venn diagram fields: hilly Classics specialistsand yellow jersey contenders. This means the chances of a break sticking are slim, with many teams motivated to control the racing. The more Classics-oriented sprinters such as 2agan and Michael Matthews might fancy their chances.

Nah he good sport.tv2.dk/cykling/2016-07-03-det-er-et-mirakel-moerkoev-stiller-til-start-efter-vanvittigt-styrt

2agan is going to be second on todays stage

Hey guys. I'm back.

Is every flat stage quite tight at the end?

Pe1er will win this stage

Pretty much. Sometimes the break away or a late attack might win, but it's seldom. The peloton is much faster on the flat.

>Sag3n

>Pretty much
Thank you Ireland. I have watched the tour time to time every year but never tried to learn everything about it.

Nice with people like you.

There's two small hills at the end, so there's a chance someone can break away and keep distance. It's not a 100% sprinter stage like yesterday.

>Froome attacks on the last climb with a couple seconds advantage
>Gets yellow and keeps it for the rest of the tour
>Another boring GC battle

>Tfw video feeds don't start until 2:10pm
Goddamnit, I want to get comfy.

Froome needs a mtf to get enough time to hold off the goat herder-ax 3 and psm. The first mountain stage had a descent. This won't be like 2013 or 2015.

Kinda shitty that Contador already looks like he's a goner for the GC with the fall yesterday.

Contador got his excuse in early.

he was never a contender for this tour. it's over for contador.

Maybe, but we'll never know if you were right.

It's a rolf & ritter på tour episode

trips and contador wins this tour

who riblon here?

i think it would be wise for him to just concentrate on the vuelta for the last years of his career.

why don't they start airing the stages on television from the beginning?

>for the last years of his career.
Contador is only 33. He can still beat the dawg and the 58 year old.

What times does the actual broadcast begin?

>Also why would they not broadcast the race when its on?

broadcast begins now.

it's expensive to show the entire stage live. on the important mountain stages they will do it.

14.10 your time.
Too expensive.

We all agree 2agan will finish 2nd, but who will win?

>Valverde

It seems Cancellara really did go and stop everyone after Can'tador fell. Bretty cool guy desu.

Purito

>laura

:3

But isn't the crazy motorcycles out on the route already, the commentators in their booth and the riders on their bike?

>They're throwing Haribo bags in the crowd

We /meme/ now.

the whole stage will be recorded, but to show it live they need to have helicopters and planes in the sky. that's the expensive bit.

may as well save some money during the non-important bits of these stages.

last km

sagan 1st

Richie looks unhealthy

And ASO is really poor.

Isn't the whole stage filmed but just a part broadcasted? No one could get a time slot large enough for the whole stage. Though they sometimes do show an entire stage. Well Eurosport does anyway. But around a stage or two per tour, from what I recall, no more.

He needs work done on his teeth.

>tfw no Laura gf

Hopefully Matthews, OGE's backstage passes are great banter when they win

stop whining. airing entire stages like these is absolutely ridiculous.

>tfw you were hungover and not paying much too much attention when building your Scorito team and you accidentally only have 1 person it who can compete for the white jersey

pls don't fail me Barquil

Also I hope for classic VroomVroom and 2agan today, that'll get me a lot of points
Anyone else here playing in this or something like it?

I fucking swear, after he won in Murrika what, a year or two ago Sagan was a different person. He can hang in there on the mountains with most of the peloton except the mountain specialists. He keeps impressing me with every competition really.

>Dat big screen in the background
>They're riding through the rain right now.

>second day
>more than a single mountain for single points
No more meme polka dot jersey holders.

>Voss in the escape again
noice

this patronising of dimension data is getting on my nerves. their final 3 riders yesterday were eisel, boasson hagen, cavendish. they're not some poor 3rd world team that struggled to get enough money to take a 15 day bus trip from africa.

Is Greg riding that bike with the hidden motor he was showing off before? Because it sure looks similar to that one. Though you can't really blame him considering his age.

if there will be rain in the pyrenees froome may lose the tour.

He's going full tryhard for the mountain jersey

But who, in their "sane" mind is patronizing them? They got fucking Cavendish, they are a fucking UCI World Tour team.

> after he won in Murrika what, a year or two ago
Well, considering he still has his stripes...

typical Manx weather for Cav's day in yellow

brb, gotta take a shit, won't take 2 minutes

Friendly reminder that Etix-Quickstep will likely fold after 2017.

This team is a joke. They have 2 guys from Eritrea thats it. One white guy from south africa, not like there have been plenty of south africans already at the tour.

That little guy from columbia is more 3rd world then this whole team

bring back mapei.

Why did he fall off the escape for a bit? BOA also has Beneddeti there, did Voss just have mechanical trouble or something?

>2 minutes
anyone care to explain this to someone new to /tdf/?

People (cycling journalists) calling it a fairytale and all that shit.

What that team does for cycling in Africa is admirable, but Mark fucking Cavendish winning a stage while being led out by EBH is not an underdog tale. It's been annoying me all year. I'm over it now.

What's the best thing about the TdF for Sup Forums

meme winners? Landscapes? collisions and accidents?

>Rolf Sorensen already coughing

/tdf/ 2bh

That's all he needs.

youtube.com/watch?v=tDIIDjoofkk

Couldn't find the English version.

The anger of lesser nations.

The scenery and the big mountain stages imo

This desu senpai.

IN DER TAT

Is Carlton Kirby the greatest commentator?

Landscapes and the race itself I guess. Makes for a /comfy/ as fuck atmosphere.

Properly

Reminder that Voeckler is our guy

Probably?

Scenery with all the historic/cultural commentary

and ofc meme riders like Sagan and failing jokers like >pinot and Quintana

No

gonna be alaphilippe today, ain't it?

that's just like, your opinion

Translate pls?

>alaphilippe
Him, gva or Sagan.

Wait a few minutes and watch it live on Eurosport.

Hello guys, I’m late. What happened?

CAN'TADOR AGAIN!

contador lol ?

Contador crashed again

not again wtf :(

4-man escape with Voss, some falls but nobody hurt, Contador behind
4/10 landscapes but comfy rain

>Over 2 minutes behind

Oh for fuck's sake Contador, two days in a row?

ah, cheers!
kraut version: youtube.com/watch?v=rmG5E9P_x-M

i don't know, did you oversleep?

It's not 2 minutes, GPS in fucked.

Anyone of the Aussie posters gonna be at the Austrian Tour?

80 riders are 2 minutes behind. no different than a nature break.

I wouldn't be so sure. He was one of the last ones to leave the crash site. For now let's waif for refreshes. They're slowing down the peloton again anyway.

Kek. This guy might become the new /tdf/ 2016 meme.

Thanks. Classic scenario, I guess.

ye

Reminds me of Vroome in... 2014 I believe. Eventually gave up after fucking up his wrist too bad I believe.
