>university entrance exam
that's not what the SAT is

You can not entrance university only with SAT.

GPA>>>Club activity>SAT

Its crazy

oh, AP(pre-university education) is also important.

>SAT
litreally 7th grade level in every european school

Actually there is( SAT Ⅱ).

ACT > SAT

RARE

I see japanese high shcool entrance exam
it is on same difficulty level as Polish Secondary School exam

I doubt it you fucking Asian dork.

I didn't even take the ACT and I got into a good college.

I wish I could say the same when it comes to Nepalese irl

>secondary school
Is it middle school, right?

GRE is literally highschool math, and yet most universities use this as part of their selection process for PhD.
I know it's only part of the process, but why?

because GRE general math is even for philosophy major

go see GRE subject math

SAT was intended as an aptitude test (not a knowledge test) before they added the subject tests, so it's always been kind of low-level. If you're looking to get into an engineering school though, you should definitely take the ACT.

It's another barrier for entry, I guess. Also, the organization responsible probably makes a lot of money.

Can I enter engineering school only with ACT?

SAT reading and writing are the actual shit tho

I think they took out the writing.

You pick one, SAT or ACT. (But it's been a while since I applied so I don't know how much they've changed and which is more appealing.) On top of that, universities look at your GPA, your rank, and your class size. You also write an admission essay, and you need a certain number of letters of recommendation from people who aren't direct family or friends. And after that, they look at miscellaneous stuff, like extracurricular activities, sports, music, etc. I might be missing something and every university has slightly different requirements, so it's good to plan ahead.

that's interesting, I though abstract algebra was a grad-level course

shut the piss off

>took out the writing
When I took it in 2008 or so, it was there
I think most good unis still require SAT writing section anyway.

>whole college admission thing
going into a college is a total random thing these days
unless you are black, hispanic, or native, even with good scores and good EC, going into Ivy-tier college is pure luck. I have seen a good # of asians who got like 2300+ SAT (1500+ if w/o writing) 10+ APs and having stellar ECs like going into science olympiad not getting into a single Ivy
