great film, Verhoeven's best sci-fi IMO

Loved it. Sequels are shit though.

:3

Great film. One of Verhoeven's best.

Filled with top waifus as well.

One of my favorites, not sure if I prefer Starship Troopers or Total Recall though since they're both great.

What was his fucking problem?

What would happen if you stuck your dick in that

You're thinking of American Pie, Starship Troopers didn't have any sequels.

The stub of its brain sucker would go up your jap's eye

I can't be friends with anyone who dislikes Starship Troopers.

Brilliant tongue-in-cheek criticism/satire of fascism/war-mongering that went over a LOT of film critics heads. Check out Rob Ager's analysis of Starship Troopers, it's fucking great.

It would be extremely painful.

Man, 20 years later and she's still hot

Fun as a standalone film, horrible as an adaptation of the novel.

fashionable

>wearing a trenchcoat in the scorching desert
That's some dedication to looking cool.

Legends tell that to this day, Zander is still cucking Johnny.

I'd rather not touch denise richards these days

Muldoon always plays that role. He'll always be hated for taking Kelly away from Zack.

totally ridiculous but highly entertaining

How do you know it was scorching? It's an alien planet, could have been 45F or something

I THINK I'M FROM BUENOS AIRES AND

Desert doesn't mean hot, I bet you're not even a citizen.

The most disappointing topless scene in the history of topless scenes.

Yeah.

>Brilliant tongue-in-cheek criticism/satire of fascism
Not really. There's literally no critique and the satire is limited only to those silly propaganda clips and the uniforms.

Maybe you just missed it
>This year we explored the failure of democracy
>The Mobile Infantry made me the man I am today
>I want to have babies. You know, it's a lot easier to get a license if you've served.

But these aren't really criticisms of fascism. Can you tell me what's inherently wrong with being becoming a citizen to have children in a country?

>there's millions of ideologies hostile to democracy
>that's just militarism that exists everywhere
>lowering birthrates has nothing to do with fascism. communist china does it
So basically they shoehorned authoritarian and militaristic stuff in the movie and called it brilliant satire on fascism.

Its showing that fascism works. Read the goddamn books. The writer gave a blue print for how it should be done.

the only thing that make me proud of being born in buenos aires

I've watched it 100 times and now I can't roll singles.

I think its an undeniably comfy movie

It's completely different from the book

It's a pretty big bug.

I like that Verhoeven can make a film like this and then turn around and make something as wildly different as Showgirls, even if it was bad. Though I liked it

The book is clearly fascist propaganda... I mean, it's entirely unironic

Good anime

>democracy
it's legitimately shit, though.

love it or leave it commie

Loved it as a kid, still think its a great rewatch.

Would like to see a high budget remake but would be worried they would fuck it up

For you.

Rob agers website has the videos taken down, is there possibly a torrent or a site that has it streaming?

Awful book adaptation, great movie

I love the (ugh) satire, or whatever you'd call it. the propaganda videos and the teacher at the beginning made me think I was gonna love the movie

then it's two hours of annoying young people having sex, and cheesy action scenes.

blown opportunity

It was anti military junta and was a huge critique of nazi Germany. Did we even read the same books?

>Argentina depicted white
pure kino

You can tell a lot about a man if he would rather take Carmen over Dizzy.

It wouldn't be the same without Verhoeven.
