Sup Sup Forums, help me out. I just discovered doom metal this past summer and I'm loving it. Problem is, I love the sound of it and how bass-heavy and fuzzy it is, but a lot of the songs and albums in the genre are so boring. They just sound like generic rock but heavier.
Recommend me some awesome doom, the heavier the better, and if it's primarily instrument-focused then that's a plus, lyrics never make a song for me.
The Saint Vitus song was neat and so was Krull, but Pentagram was exactly what I meant in the first post, just sounds like regular rock with more tritones and shit. That last song was also neat.
Here's another one. This one is more blackened doom so not sure how you'll feel about it but if you like it check out their other stuff because it ended up evolving into a really unusual band.
Also metal is pretty much confined to a general thread. The last metal album Sup Forums got really excited about was Sunbather

Is that what it's called? I don't know much about genres and shit, I was just going off of what someone said about Come My Fanatics. I just searched sludge on Youtube though and got a bunch of good shit, thanks for the tip!
This is fucking sick, think I've come across it before, definitely gonna listen through the album.
This is heavy as fuck, love it.
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll spotify them tonight!
Cathedral is so awesome, I was actually about to link them lol
This is really cool, definitely like tracks with a super sludgy ostinato and some cool guitar stuff over top. I'll have to listen to some more.
That's cool then. Shame though, I'm really not into most metal, I just love the sludgy and bassy sound of these bands. I kinda wanna get a stoner/sludgy band going when I finish school now but hopefully that doesn't fizzle out.
Possessed by the Rise of Magik is a pretty solid release by Ramesses too

These are heavy as fuck, awesome suggestions man, I really like the Coffins song in particular. I skimmed through this a bit, sounds cool but I don't like how up tempo it is. Plus I'm not a huge fan of the screaming and growling. I'll listen through it after work though, maybe I'm being too picky.
I'll be sure to check em out tonight. Thanks boyz
I'm gonna keep this open and review it later in case anyone else drops off some links but these are some amazing suggestions you guys, thank you so so much.

OP returning on phone to check thread, I like some of Black Sabbath's stuff but I feel like the music relies too heavily on Ozzy's vocals. They're good but not great. I like a couple songs like Sweet Leaf and Iron Man though.
