I've lived with it for as long as I can remember. It gets easier to tolerate. Although I believe it is impossible to cure. Just build a tolerance to it.

suck it up and be a man

or kys

With mental gymnastics. Stop caring about shit.

Seek professional help. If you don't want drugs, specify that you don't want drugs.

I agree, you just have to stop caring.

Work out everyday, lift weights or do pushups. Stretch your body every hour or so. Spend a lot of time infront of the mirror

Do things, put yourself in situations which make you anxious, then block any exit that isn't through. Do this as many times as possible and you'll find ways to put things in perspective and deal with them.

Basically, constant exposure.

look up NLP

I find corpse mutilation works quite well. Or necrophilia.

Cognitive behavioral therapy. /thread

control your breathing. take deep long breaths. most people with anxiety take shallow breaths during their everyday stuff. meditate. get plenty of exercise.

what's the use of specifying?

Yoga and cardio can help, if your muscles are tight and your spine isn't straight (probably half of the population here from sitting at computers all their life) your body is receiving constant stress signals and you will be in a constant flight or fight mode.
If you cannot breathe properly (again most of the population) your body will be low on oxygen and again will be getting stress signals, notice your breathe now, how deep are you breathing?
Are you breathing just enough to barely keep the body alive or are you breathing so deep your entire body is saturated with oxygen?
Also stop giving a fuck as others said.
It is said that depression comes from living in the past, and anxiety comes from worrying to much about the future.
Just remember, 99% of the bullshit problems your mind comes up with don't even end up happening, 99% of what you think or fear will happen, is imagined bullshit that isn't close to the reality of the situation.

Avoid meds, they help short term but long term will make you worse.
I used to get panic attacks, I keep valium on me but I don't take it, just knowing I have something on me that will neutralize a panic attack if it's triggered actually lowers my stress in a major way so I don't worry about it.

by not giving a fck

Take a lot of drugs.

Think of ice cream flavors when anxiety kicks in. I am dead ass serious about this. Google it. Its a real thing !!

Accept it for what it is. Anxiety is just an overproduction of fear as a way to "attain" some semblance of control.

Anxiety can be very useful in preparation for an event, but must be let go during the actions you're taking because fear is a great motivator but a terrible tool.

How do you get rid of it? Don't. Use it. If it's really bad you should probably get professional help. Sometimes the way you were brought up wasn't great and you need a new input. But you have to be open to change if you want to change. A no brainer, but very few understand it.

Spotted the underage fag

Stop using the computer.

jack off 4 times a day

cum on anything that makes you anxious

bike rides

There's a very effective treatment called Exposure Therapy. It's not easy, but it's quite effective.

Well said, appreciate your post.

Sex. Sex. Sex. If you don't have a woman to have sex with then fapping to porn also helps but not as much.

I don't know, I've fought against it, but to be honest, whenever I'm frantic I think more deeply and see beyond the superficial for the underlying reasons of things. I think my intelligence is just based in anxiety, or I am inherently unintelligent and it is my mind's response (a sort of overdrive mode) that it needs to be competitive.

Case in point: I had worked my anxiety down to a minimal and took an IQ test that my doctor ordered (unrelated reasons). I received an FSIQ of 99. A couple of years later my anxiety returned and for that other health concern I took another and got 123. Obviously 123 isn't anything to write home about, and I am definitely on the stupid side of "smart" and will likely not be anything too too great, but still, I think there is something to be said about anxiety.
tl;dr there may be benefits to anxiety.

These men never got anxiety.

Become so depressed that you can't feel anything at all. Worked for me

who dey

Stay away from meds, particularly benzodiazepines. You'll fuck your mind up even more in the long term.

SSRIs are bad news as well.

Meditation, naturally trying to overcome it through therapy, etc.

>opiates
>cocaine (too much will add to anxiety)
>xanax

dead men

Weed helps a lot. Indica. I have it before bed every day to every other day and it curbs the worst of it really well for me

Kava, if you can stomach it.

I used to drink a few cups every night and would wake up feeling like a million bucks.

For the love of got don't listen to this bullshit. It sounds straight out of a self help book written by a fake doctor.

As someone that has had to deal with it all my life, I can tell you right now that starting to sit up straight or learning to "breathe properly" will not fix your anxiety, nor will it even improve the symptoms. No amount of exercise is gong to make it go away either... Regular exercise makes you feel better in general, and he's just mistaking it for an improvement in his anxiety. It might look like it is, but your problems will spring right back up again, I promise.

His advice that you stay away from meds is also pretty dumb. You can probably get by fine without them if your anxiety isn't severe enough. But they can help out a lot, especially in the beginning when you don't know how to manage it at all.

The best thing you can do to manage anxiety is to make a serious attempt to figure out what is triggering it and then slowly expose yourself to that trigger so you can start training yourself to react to it differently. If it's just general anxiety though you should really be taking some kind of medication if you can. Whatever downside these tinfoil hats think meds have is going to be far less dangerous that the effects of chronic stress on your body over decades.

It depends on the type of anxiety you have, I suffered from very serious anxiety between 2012-2013 (period of a year). It set on a few weeks after I accidentally smoked too much of the wrong strain of weed (first time) and got scared as fuck that evening.

After 2 weeks I couldn't stop feeling worried and scared all the time. It was like this emotional reaction I just couldn't control or explain rationally. In the beginning I tried to overanalyse my anxiety, which didn't make it any better. After a while I started to understand that by keeping myself distracted for example through exercising or by focussing on positive things I could keep it at bay some what. It got better gradually from there, anxiety episodes becoming less frequent over the period of about a year until they disappeared completely.

The thing is that it won't go away instantly, but gradually. Don't be too hard on yourself and accept that your anxiety is not rational, it's emotional. The more you focus on it, the more it will take control of you.

I know it is hard to believe, because it's like your body is trying to tell you something. However your body is just confused, because constant anxiety is not a normal state.

Don't give up, and stay strong.

Ah man,I feel you. My shrink back in college said it was something like 'free floating anxiety disorder' and comes largely from taking everything too seriously. Here's what got me out of it:

Usually anxiety is illogical, and it's hard to get over it, and being anxious makes you more anxious. So you have to write down what is bothering you, then write down the worst case scenario, then write a list of reasons why that's bullshit, and things you would do about it if it did.

Somehow that helped a fucking lot. Save the list and look at it. Your brain will start to check the shit off as 'done'.

But change of scenery / company helps too.

No worries, all the best in your recoveries.
Keep it real and as the great bill hicks once said

"Don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride"

After you shake the emotional reaction you can start to analyse, but the truth is that you'll probably have no clue why the fuck you were so anxious all the time. Overanalysing anxiety is generally not a good idea, because analysis is for rational things, anxiety is not rational.

Let go of the control feeling you know very well you cannot control life it self time it self was invented by man and we have no control over everything so just LET GO! NOW!

Stop CARING what people think or look just be yourself.

Do what you like live free! everything else is artificial.

Take antidepressants and start a running regimen. Try to live a fulfilling life, which usually involves working on a degree at school you really like and finding some really fun hobby that you can meet people with. Try to get laid. Most of all, making friends I think helps. I can't begin to describe how much better I've gotten at dealing with anxiety. Also, it seems tons of people here are giving shit advice. Ignore them.

What are the downsides to kava?

Anxiety generally doesn't make you smarter, because it is a reaction of the human body when it is not supposed to think but act. In fact, anxiety makes you tired as hell which makes it harder to focus on studying or other higher cognitive tasks.

Kidney damage if you take it like a retard. No known side effects afaik. Type in google "kava ncbi". That's a scientific journal database that will give you abstracts and full journal articles of research on the matter.

face your fears fam

Well, if you think of them as some sort of one-dimensional stereotypes, sure they didn't.

YEAH MILLENIALS SUCK I LIKE TO TALK ABOUT THEM AS IF IM NOT ONE OF THEM
