Why am I getting 2 different results?
And which one is right?

One diagonal is 12, one is 11
Not a fucking square
Right, so forget the square. If B = 6 and C = 11 wtf is Y?
Y = open a basic math textbook
uhh... that kind of square is impossible to draw.
If C = 11, then C = 2B should also make sense
but then it would be 11 = 122 which is false
12*
Area = Height * Base * 0.5
Area = 6 * 11 * 0.5
Area = 33
That's fine, but why doesn't it work using pytagoras' theorem?
It's either not a square or B does not go from a corner to the centre of the square. Assuming it is a square then (A^2)/2=area=30.25
It isn't fine, B is not perpendicular to C if it was the b would equal 5.5 not 6
Literally just woke up.... let's see.
We know it's not a square, but let's try and solve anyway assuming it's a rectangle or something and all the outside corners are still 90 degrees.
Nevermind. We cannot be sure of ANY of the outside or inside angles. D could be anything. C minus D could be anything. Without more info on angles or congruency, this is a troll pic.
Just plug the answers into your formula and see what's right, duh
It says it's a square but doesn't say B is perpendicular to C, its simple to work out from there, its just a poorly drawn diagram
Dudes, the diagram's a diagram. Got it from here

2:10 in. They reckon is right.
You do not know if D is 1/2 of C.
See If D wasn't half of C, this guy wouldn't be right. Also, pic related is proportional. That's 1100 pixels across and 600 pixels tall. Red is the square whose area you divide to get the triangle's.
What I want to know is why the fucking theorem won't work.
The theorem doesn't work because it's not a right triangle, friend.
I wanna punch somebody.
Not you. You cool.
But really.
Fuck.
yes it is. if you cut the triangle in half, you have 2 right angle triangles that are the exact same
That's what I did, but to figure out Y all I needed to do was multiply B and D. "A" was irrelevant.
Now I'm confused again. A*A should equal Y*2.
Let me break it down for you. Your diagram is wrong. Make a better one and the theorem will work. Either C is wrong, or D is wrong, or the quadrilateral isn't a square at all, or image related.
Make a better diagram or get the fuck back to summer school.
The mistake is him trying to find the area of a diamond by using the side*side mechanic you use for squares. The diagram is irrelevant.
If the diagram wasn't misleading af nor made in Paint, then he probably wouldn't have had this self-bait posted.
