Do people really think hockey is a major sport in the US? Why do they call it a "big 4"? Where the fuck in the US is hockey even comparable in popularity to NBA/MLB/NFL? Fucking Minnesota maybe. I see more soccer jerseys and fans than I see hockey fans.

Soccer jerseys are more everyday wearable. I see more people wearing soccer jerseys than NFL ones too, just cause they look more like shirts.
Well, Boston for one.
america is horrible at hockey so its not very popular there
> 1st overall draft pick was American
> best player in the nhl is American
Half the American first overalls busted
The best player in the NHL is Sidney Crosby
Crosby just plays in America. He isn't American.
It is still comfortably number 4 as far as team sports.
Bigger than the NBGay in Jersey and the North East
if you went by total number of fans in the seats, cfb and NASCAR are the biggest
>Where the fuck in the US is hockey even comparable in popularity to NBA/MLB/NFL?
Minnesota
all of New England
Michigan
Illinois
Colorado
North Dakota
South Dakota
Alaska
...etc
Basically Big Ten country, New England, and northern states with no NFL/NBA/MLB teams
who is Patrick Kane?
Boston, Detroit, Chicago, DC, Philly, so on and so forth
Leave your fucking house before you ask such a dumb question again.
>crosby is the best meme
Hockey has been a Big 2 sport in multiple regions of the USA I've lived in.
Way to show everyone you're totally new to the sport.
>Why do they call it a "big 4"?
Because there's the big 4 leagues (not sports, leagues) and then there's the rest. Things like revenue, age, stability and number of teams contribute to "big 4" status.
This
Nobody cares about whatever niggerball region you live in. Go fuck yourself, cuck.
McDavid's the best
maybe post the revenue
and you will see that the MLS is a joke
Same here.
Hockey is big enough to be considered part of the "big 4", albeit definitely the smallest of the group. If you spend a lot of time in the North (especially the Northeast and Midwest), you'll see that it's a major sport. But imo it's barely ahead of soccer nationwide, the thing is that soccer's fanbase here is split between the Premier League, Liga MX, La Liga, and MLS.
*while hockey's fanbase is unified by the NHL and has a lot of Canadian fans
>they shouldn't be entertaining us
alright pleb
So the Might Ducks lied to me?
Hockey was bigger in the 70's and 80's. Bad tv deals hurt it though
I'm fine with hockey not being the most popular as long as the "riff raff" stay out.
Nah, Trinidad and Tobago is a hockey powerhouse
Hockey is the only actual sport you fucking faggot
Well I mean, yeah. Most NHL team average attendances are just as high as NBA attendance averages, some higher, and the ratings are much better than MLS, EPL, and Bundesliga ratings. Just because it's not on ESPN doesn't mean it's not a "big sport"
>zero teams in the cup
Hockey is prretty popular in the northeast and the midwest, you're probably some desert rat Spic from California who prefers divegrass or some other type of semen slurpery.
