Instruments, unless found in nature are inherently synthetic. There's no such thing as "natural" and "unnatural" sound as all sound is produced in a natural way you dumbass.

Seconding this, totally changed the way a lot of people viewed guitar as an instrument and (unfortunately) inspired a wave of "percussive fingerstyle" guitarists.

I'm sure I'll get shit on for this but Josh Homme has a very unique style of playing that you really don't hear in anyone else save for obvious imitators.
