Bad films that you like

If it's bad, you know it and you like it, post it.

It was fun, fuck the haters.

I built my own mechaspider from a playset once. Turned into a crab. Good times.

>Turned into a crab

My goodness.

It's a bad movie, but a bad movie that's really neat to look at. As long as you don't hear any of the dialogue or know what the plot is, you'll be fine. This would be a great movie to be on a muted TV in the waiting room of a Minekie or something.

Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call - New Orleans
Commando
Hobo With A Shotgun
Enemy Mine
The Last Starfighter
Twins
Kindergarten Cop
The Toxic Avenger

Most of Schwarzenegger comedies.

Con Air
Armageddon
Demolition Man
Sword of the Valiant
Tron

10/10 list

Can someone post Hayek's ass for me? For the memories.

This?

>Salma Hayek
>Sofia Vergara
>Eva Mendes

Hollywood knows exactly what they want in their latin chicks and I'm 100% okay with it.

>Commando
Loved this movie. And after seeing it again a few years ago, yes it was bad. But I still enjoyed watching it.

>Enemy Mine
I saw this *years* ago on tv when I was a kid. But I only remember LG Jr. as an alien singing like he was gargling.

>Kindergarten Cop
Sorry but this is kino, sensei.

>The Toxic Avenger
Agreed. Also I would add Surf Nazis Must Die.

>Armageddon
Do we have to say it was a bad movie? Can we say it was a typical action flick instead?

>Demolition Man
Nope, nope, nope...not calling this one a bad movie. No way.

My list:
1) Flash Gordon
2) Swamp Thing
3) Pootie Tang

It is a shame what they did to the source material. At least they picked the whitest black guy to play the white protagonist.

Young al pacino was never believable as a gangster, however his older self, in the third instalment, was flawless.

I loved Wild Wild West.

rush hour babyyyy

Starship Troopers
Bad Taste
Commando
Predator 1 and 2
Con Air
From dusk till dawn
The Jean Claude Van damme movie with the manhunting.
The Kingmaker, although this is in a "god damn this is hilariously shitty i can't stop laughing" kind of way.

Did you even try

...

I don't get this bad meme. It was decent and had good flow. It wasn't exactly written well but the acting was decent and the effects and setting pretty much carried the movie.

>Rush Hour
>Bad

Rush Hour 1 and 2 are based as fuck, shows what you can do when you have 2 people in comedy with maximum chemistry.

Anything with Nicolas Cage.

>Hobo With A Shotgun
My nigga

Watched this last night with my girlfriend as a test. To see basically how she would react to a movie people today would consider highly stereotypical and masoginistic. She loved the movie, told her there was two more and she wants to watch them.

How is Rush Hour 3 though? I honestly can't remember a thing about it except that huge Asian guy.

>tfw hearing Kevin Smith's Superman story
>tfw he got to GIANT MECHANICAL SPIDER
Keks for days.

This is such a fucking reddit comment. Give me another three day ban for "reddit bogeyman shitposting", I don't give a fuck. This website is turning into reddit from the inside out and it's crossposters like this that are contributing to the slow decline of our once unique culture.

It's pretty much exactly the same story formula as you would expect, it's not truly awful by any means but it has less laughs than 1 and 2.

...

Joining on the thread to tell you to go fuck yourself reddishit.

>To the stars, Bowen. To the stars.

;__;

>to save her dad

uh, user

I enjoyed it more than Motion Picture, Generations and Insurrection.

What in the fuck are you blabbering about nigger

The "culture" you're talking about is primarily shouting about capeshit and/or trying to force the next hot new meme. i've been here since Baneposting began and there's almost zero useful discussion around here.

>bad
Those are all legitimately good movies and would never end up on a list with Wild Wild West.

>bad
More great, skillfully crafted films. This thread is shit.

If you really believe that Sup Forums was always about capeshit then you really have not been here that long.

>Commando
>bad

No.

Insurrection and Generations I understand, but The Motion Picture? That film was the ultimate cerebral Star Trek kino film.

It felt like the TOS episode 'The Changeling' with shitty pacing for a lot of it. Bear in mind that I just don't like these 'artsy' films such as 2001 in general.

It's a love it or hate it type film, but I know in my heart it is objectively bad. I'll never stop loving it though.

Alien Resurrection.

I mean yeah it is a big 2001 ripoff, but I felt it was way more successful than STV. I just can't get over the dumb shit in that movie like Uhura's dance, the shitty effects that were worse than Next Gen at the time, the hackneyed plot (LOL SPOCK HAS A BROTHER NOW) and the laughable Shatner overacting. Also, the dumb campfire scene and Spock's rocket boots.

The part where Sybil is manipulating Bones was GOAT though.

>objectively bad
Really?

I mean I love the movie too.

Transformers 1. I watched this at the cinema and it felt nauseating and deafening at some parts. I really loved the robots though.

I mean "bad" is a blanket term, so it depends on how you define it. It's it a bad film in terms of entertainment? Absolutely not. Is it a bad film in terms of artistic merit? Probably.

I said I enjoyed STV more, I didn't say it was better than ST1 if that makes any sense.

The campfire scene was also pretty good aside from the goofy marshmallow bits. I just find that I can tolerate a lot of its shortcomings since they did the tried and tested character of Kirk, Spock and McCoy fairly well (most of the time.) I'm fully aware that it's pretty bad, but that's the theme of the thread I guess.

ST1 was a bit of a reverse of that for me. The characters felt kind of blandly used aside from V-ger, and while the general atmosphere was really well crafted, the incredibly sluggish pacing makes it outstay its welcome. There's a lot to like in it, and while I respect it far more than the sloppy as shit STV, I ended up enjoying STV more.

I still maintain that the first transformers was a perfectly fine popcorn flick. It's the sequels that become so offensive to the senses that they cease to be enjoyable at any level

Totally fair, I respect that. The Star Trek movies are generally about big blockbuster adventures anyway, which is why the TNG movies always sucked so bad. The cast was not suited for action movies

>Predator 1
This movie still holds up.

Only part of the TNG movies that I liked was the on-the-surface part of First Contact with Zefram Cochrane, since it made for a decent Star Trek origin story for all its problems.

Other than that, the TNG and reboot films feel like a poor man's Star Wars for the most part.

>Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call - New Orleans
>The Last Starfighter

Not bad movies.

>wicky wicky wah
10/10

Jingle all the way. One of the best Christmas movies ever.

Yeah that part was really fun, because they got to do the whole reversal of expectations with what kind of person he was, since he was always talked about as this legendary figure in the shows. So that was kinda neat, but unfortunately the impact is lost on general audiences, so they need the contrived action to get assess in seats.

You can actually look at this movie as a window into the utter depravity of modern Western consumer culture and the decline of interpersonal relationships in suburban America. It's pure kino.

>unique culture

Lmao romanticizing much?

This movie is fucking great.

Artistic merit a subjective quality.

Jingle All The Way is unironically a top 5 all time Christmas movie

I disagree

pls no bully

I like the score
youtube.com/watch?v=TTkSJybDRXo

Its one of those movie that where everything but the script is on point, which makes it enjoyable to a degree. The script and Will Smith thinking he's still doing an episode of Fresh Prince.

The start of it annoyed me when they pulled up some bullshit contrived reasoning why Picard should stay away from the Borg, just to try and make the crew look badass for disobeying orders. Picard's nightmares were cool though.

On the flip side, STIV was a lot of fun and that barely had any action at all.

That scene where she fucks him in mid air is unintentionally hilarious though.

MiB1
MiB3
Independence Day
Enemy of the State

its so bad its good

i miss 90's will smith before he went insane

It isnt bad, it's just really tacky at times

lmao but thats like
arcade fire bs

This only reminds me that we'll never hear or see Sean Connery in anything again.

i'm still in denial that he will come back and do at least one more movie before he dies.

...

I'm that user, and I agree with you, i generally find the Notion that most of the movies in this thread to being bad is silly. I'd generally not think of a movie i like as bad. I actually thought about mentioning this in my fest post but decided against it.

Except the Kingmaker, because that's a hilariously bad movie unable to figure out if it wants to try be historically correct or just go full braveheart or bullshit kung fu movie with flying ninjas and shit and is plagued by porn tier acting from everyone that isn't John rhys Davies.

It's super green.

Can someone explain to me why Wild Wild West was considered a bad movie? I really liked it as a kid.

Also it's pretty funny how Will Smith turned down the role of Neo to star in it lel.

That movie had it's moments. I fucking love the first shot. Just that Lone ship silently floating through space to the sound of drums like it's Galley from the classical age. That part alone is great, then suddenly the grand revealing of a massive space battle below it with silly close range broad sides. Which is also great.

Honestly, i'm glad he did, his hammy will Smith antics fit WWW so damn well, and i doubt he'd be a good neo. Will Smith needs to do either thoroughly serious movies like the homeless one, or movies where he can go full awww hell nawww. Matrix is too much in between.

I think he would have been okay as Neo but Keanu is weirdly perfect for the role. There's something surreal about his acting - ALMOST Nic Cage-esque but no way near as bad, but endearing and strange enough that it fits in with the tone of the Matrix.

Not the sequels though because fuck that.

This.

i could never imagine another actor as neo.

The casting, fuck everything was so perfect in the first matrix movie but then everything got fucked upexcept v for vendetta

dude, this movie is ballers as fuck.
there is not a single person that dislikes it.

...

Since when is this movie considered bad?

Because there was a Wild Wild West show that the movie is an adaptation of and they got everything wrong. Will Smith himself said he deeply regrets it.

You're doing it wrong, mib 1 and 3 are good movies. If you listed mib 2 that would be a bad movie that some may like. #ballchineans

Are people having trouble understanding the point of this thread? What kind of faggot actually thinks Commando is a bad movie?

>Make a movie of a show no one gives a shit about
>People complain anyway

No one complains about the Harry Potter movies even though those are HORRENDOUSLY wrong

Haha XD an ebin upboat for you my good lad! I wish I could give you gold but I'm too poor! Hahaha

>>Make a movie of a show no one gives a shit about
If that were the case then people wouldn't have complained about it for that reason, including Will Smith himself who apologized to the original shows' crew.

>No one complains about the Harry Potter movies
Have you been living under a rock? People have made parodies whole about all the fans complaining that the movies don't follow the book.

His development into a young gangster was great, and totally believable. Why would you expect him to be like Marlon Brando by the end of the first movie?

>the acting was decent

Fucking kill yourself me lad

...

Ehhhh... Since the beginning of that cancer then? You are part of the problem and are a pure newfag. Please go back to the website you used to go before. You bring nothing here.

...

I had this thought as well - if I had to hazard a reason why I'd say it's well-made (even very well-made) in terms of acting, pacing, design, cinematography and even dialogue.. and then I'd say it falls down at plot and characters which are oddly generic and uninspired considering how dynamic the film is in all the other aspects.

Year One

>48% on Rotten Tomatoes

I hate you fucking rotten tomatoes kiddies. You treat it like it's the holy grail of film criticism, when all it was ever originally intended for was to serve as a general barometer for how many critics liked or disliked a film. 48% of critics liking something isn't bad, it just means it's polarized.

i love or at least enjoy all roland emmerich movies up to and including the patriot

>Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call - New Orleans

actually the best comedy of this century so far

...

that's a 90's nostalgia movie if i've ever seen one.

payne?
