What is the edgiest anime?

What is the edgiest anime?

I need something that is like Tokyo Ghoul, the edginess helps put me in the exercising mood.

Elfen lied

Shit is fucking bad that only thing it has going for it is the gore

Attack on titan? Never seen it but it sounds a tad edgy based on what my friends have told me.

Maybe "Another" or "Euphoria"

Euphoria is straight up hentai though, isnt it? and its pretty fucked up

Claymore.

Don't get too attached to any of the main characters.

oh god.. most the the episode felt like fillers. so fucking bad.

A lot of people might also say Puella Magi Madoka Magica is one of the darkest edgiest animes, because from the packaging you expect a light series and then it takes a downward fucking spiral.

But who am I to say?
If you just want straight up blood and dismemberment you should just watch Berserk, but without a barometer to determine just what 'edgy' entails, I feel that there's nothing really adequate-

note too that I did not watch Claymore or Madoka.

Personally, giving it a few minutes of thought... I think the most surprising series, for me, was Paranoia Agent. It was dark, but the episodic nature of the stories, chained togehter, was like a cult classic horror thriller that kept building up.

RIP Satoshi Kon.

Yeah, you gotta point.

Ok, how about Deadman Wonderland? Was that edgy? All i remember was the first episode started with a classroom of people dying. I didn't see much of it, or rather I stopped watching it on adult_swim because the dub's MC made my tinnitus act up

I read the Deadman Wonderland manga because it's by the creator of Eureka Seven.
I didn't get into the series, it felt too drawn out and they gave unimportant side characters more backstory for series filler.

Death Note

It's GenoCyber, to give you an idea the second OVA starts with little kids being shredded to pieces by helicopter gunfire there's also a dissection without anesthesia in the first OVA.

pls

Corpse party?

School days?

That "when they cry" show where the gif of the girl banging a knife into her neck is from?

>dead man wonderland
Prison where bunch off people have blood powers or some shit and fight on live TV (mix death race with gladiatorial cage fighting)

>parasyte
Guy gets attached to parasyte, takes over his hand. He basically becomes an emotionless shell but a killing machine. Lotsa gore in the same damn school; like america decided to move to Japan.

>Elfen lied
Gore, depressing scenes and tits with invisible arms n shit

>attack on titan
Literally switches from 'oh god were gonna die' vore and gore to rage induced violence about 5 EPs in

Jojo

Kara no kyoukai

or you could watch MuvLuv for one scene where a girl in a mech suit gets eaten alive by aliens, begging her teammate to shoot her but she misses every shot and has to watch while aliens basically eat her feet first and pull her entrails out and shit like that.

Not worth watching the series though, based on a crappy guro/ecchi visual novel.

It's hard to really nail down a series for being edgy because there's a lot of tryhard shit out there, but now and then a real gem of a show will actually hurt you in the heart rather than just shock you with blood and guts.

I tend to appreciate that kind of stuff more than just over the top violence. I'm not talking Shion's murder spree in Higurashi, or Shinji piloting his goddamned own dead mother.. but subtle shit.

Like Haibane Renmei's take on suicide. Shit that haunts you years later.

Ah, sorry. Angsty stuff ain't really my department. I tend to go for action shows or comedy.

How bout "monster" I've heard its more of a psychological thriller

>Another is quite good it's final destination meets anime

>Attack on titan is kinda edgy well that's up to you but the plot pretty interesting
>
Euphoria is pretty edgy but is hentai so
