They were both pretty solid albums overall for sure. Well you are right about all of that pretty much. Im not a an of the Grips, Rap is my favorite and the complex and deep is what i love best for sure. Unfortunately i could not get through any death grips album. Any time i listen to an artist or group i sit and listen to full albums by them and get a feel for the music before i say if i like it or not. I tried 3 different albums and could not finish any of them.

Do you remember which DG albums did you try? There are some that I didn't really like that much but they're sound shifts quite a bit from album to album so some were more into my taste than others. I still do full listens of my favourite albums from them once in a while.

I find them to be quite the contrary, industrial sounding rap isn't something that common and as much as you dislike them you should be able to admit their lyrics aren't just deep but also difficult to rap at the pace Stefan does.

My second favourite, I love the raw and unprofessional mastering with those god tier lyrics on top. The album is a bit dissonant but that's not too bad since they got to experiment with so many different sounds in their debut.

Hit or miss, some tracks were great and others I simply disliked.
My favourite album from them is Niggas on the Moon, it's the one where the instrumentals are more related to each other and every single track is great in my opinion, without mentioning Black Quarterback which is my favourite song from them. If you were to try them again I would suggest this album, but I can't really force you and after disliking 3 albums I understand that you don't really have much motivation.

A simple but unique idea for the album theme, I love it. Also loved the sampling from Huit Octobre on Lonely Beer that I have heard before in a Tyler song, and apparently it has been sampled by a few other rappers before.
