Rolls are small pieces of bread that have soft crust, usually split in half and buttered. No clue as to why they're called rolls, but eh who cares.
Similar to a biscuit but biscuits tend to be a little more tough and crumbly.
I don't know what you would call OP's kind of bread. It seems a bit bigger than a roll, looks like it has a slight crisp on the crust with soft inside, similar to French or Italian bread but much smaller.
I'd call it whatever the locals call it I guess.
