Ask a norwegian lawyer anything!

do you specialise in anything?

heritage and
contract law

What does heritage mean in your context? Protection of? Or is it some legal term I don't know of?

In a norwegian context i woulde say it is about the rights to the family left behind (what values and fortunes they can expect to get after the person who died, but also dept...) in Norway we also have something called 'Uskiftetbo' which is like a pause from the whole system where the remaining spuse get almost 100% controll of the values etc..

Interesting. Do you go to court? Or is it office based? Or both?

do you guys ban any works of fiction, like nazi books, loli or anything people go batshit insane over?

the main rule is that you dont go to court, but if the heirs dont get along or can't settle the court will be a possibility... (ppl tend to argue alot about heritage cause everyone wants money...)

the main rule from the constitution is freedom of speech, which goes for books, image, and videos etc... so its not illegal to paint lolo for instance.. but sharing it, im not sure. I can check it out

Yeah exactly. As soon as someone dies, thats when the arguments start.

Still, it pays your bills doesn't it?

When should a person make a will? I'm 39 and don't plan on dying yet, but I do have some savings. I'm the youngest of three brothers, both my parents are still alive.

Should I even be thinking about it yet? I know you aren't a financial advisor, but I guess you get to see all the shit when it all kicks off

hmm, well since you ask i guess you have offered it some thought. Depends where you are from and how covered you and your familiy are by the law... If you think the law give your familiy a fair distribution of your heritage... maybe it is not so important to make a will now? The most common argument to make a will is if you are married :-)

What about the contract law side? Presumably is large businesses who can afford to hire a lawyer to help them... I'm guessing breach of contract? Do you have to find loopholes in contracts?

yes, it is more known for large businesses cause of the big money, but it is alos important cause the large business employ alot of persons and is therfore important socioeconomically. In Norway the main rule is freedom of contracts which means ppl often make deals and come to that they are bad in the time after... therfore lawyers are contacted, but also to make good contracts to ensure that there are no breaches etc.. if you think about it you use contract law every day when you go to the grosay store buying milk, water etc.

NB: sorry for the english... its not the best and dont go well with 4 beers...

Advokat?

ja.

>if you think about it you use contract law every day
Yes I was trying to think of my 'first contract', it was prob when I was 18 and I rented my first room when I was a student, it was probably the first piece of paper I had to read and sign my name at the bottom.

But as you say we go through life every day entering contracts silently, they just don't have any weight (unless you want to challenge it)

>NB: sorry for the english- 4 beers

I'm on the beers myself

Indeed. Once i had a case where a person had recived a bill in his postbox which stated he had clicked ''Yes'' on a pornsite to be willing to pay 800NOK (100Euro), the firm who billed him was located on a island in the pacific and almost impossible to reach.... it was not true he had clicked that button.

Har du mer Liru?

does norway go crazy with the warning labels like americans are almost forced to

How the fuck did your country manage to run out of butter once? Did your farmers throw away all the cows after they were milked one time because they didn't want to milk a used cow?

What if I purchased a National Lottery scratch-card (there may be something similar in Norway- a card bought almost anywhere, you scratch off the layer and (probably) wont win anything, but potential jackpot could be several thousand) and gave it to another person as a gift*

Lets say that other person scratched it off and won a lot of money, would I stand anywhere with that? I mean, am I entitled to that win? Could that person go back to the ticket issuer, produce the winning ticket physically and accept the winnings because they were in possession of the winning ticket?

I guess the ticket issuer will have small print on the back, but I always wondered how that would work.

*for the record, in real life I would never give another person a gift as lifeless and inconsiderate as a lottery scratchcard

How does it feel to not be relevant in anyway?

nice

whats happened to our Norwegian lawyer?

Are you sucking nigger cock - as all Norwegian males - on a regular basis aswell?

can i emigrate to your country if i have a nursing career from chile?

no need.
the problem is that said main rule is similar everywhere, yet places like UK ban loli, also try to get anything with nazi symbols in Germany for example.

i wonder if they still ban mein kampf.
