Halo 3 was the last bare bones Halo.

Everything after adds new features and such, and I'm a fan of new.

Like new movement, old halo was pretty slow.

They were both bad. I only played the Master Chief collection but everyone voted just for halo3 and 4 games. Halo 3 I'm not too pissed about but the multi-player in it with the connection sucked. Only halo 3 would lag and have a bad delay except for the other games

Games don't advance when you don't change features, halo 3 and halo reach are both amazing but in their own ways.

I've been playing halo since halo 2. I've played all the games, and beaten all but Halo 5 on legendary.

Having equipment is totally different than the armor ability system

Honestly OP? The campaign was wank story wise, although fun, the multi-player is really good, especially with the continued support and free dlc

It's still pretty bare bones, in terms of multiplayer that was the only major change form 2 to 3 except BXR and shit
