it's okay
The only memorable track is the vs. Tapu one. But it's still okay otherwise.
Haven't played it but if it's as dumbed down as the gameplay it's probably shit.

it's literally the best pokemon game since Platinum and the gameplay is a step up from gen 6 and gen 5
This, plus Skyrim and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
From Tropical Freeze, the greatest game music composer by far:
ice age 2 gba
>playing a Pokemon game beyond the age of 10
JUMPJUMPJUMP
>being a tripfag beyond the age of 0
Using reaction images past the age of 20
>not Guzma's theme
>playing pokemon games beyond first and second generation
youtube.com
by far the best Elite 4 theme ever
do you also have cereals for breakfast and put milk into your coffee?

Aren't there a fuck ton of cut scenes on Pokémon games now?
Yes. It's awful. Also your field of view is tiny cause of the graphics. You had more sense of were you going in the fucking GB version.
But muh lolis with bigs tits and muh shota.
>pokemon
Sup Forums is 18+
Hotline Miami 2
Nes Megamans
The Deadbolt OST is fucking glorious.
yeah but there's not actually any more dialogue than the old games, it's just animated now.
the people who whine about the cutscenes are losers.
It takes like 40 minutes to even play the game for the first time in Sun & Moon.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The cut scenes aren't the worst part.
The pokemon in this game will constantly "call of help," making catching some wild pokemon take 30+ minutes as they constantly spawn a new Pokemon at the end of every turn.
So? It takes 40 minutes to listen to the average album but at least unlike a shitty album, that 40 minutes you spent in the beginning of Sun/Moon is guaranteed to pay off.
I've said this to so many people but the new Pokemon games don't really "begin" until after you get to the second island. The whole first island is basically a tutorial and yes you could argue it was unnecessary but writing off the whole game because of that is retarded when you consider that they are like 20-hour games minimum for the full story (and the story this time is a lot better than gen 6).
Jet Set Radio Future
...
Goblet Grotto
It shouldn't take 40 minutes to play a game that is simple enough for a child. Don't defend the bullshit that modern games are full of passive parts rather than gameplay.
pic related is my fave vidya soundtrack
The problem isn't the length of the cutscenes, it's that the Pokemon stories are 90% fluff. Changing the gyms to island challenges does nothing to change the fact the stories in these games are essentially "go beat pokemon masters and become the champion for reasons."
The other problem is because of the shitty hidden stats and randomization of nature, any who wants a half decent starter will have to reset the game for a few hours and be subjected to those cutscenes.
Though not gonna lie, watching Rowlet accept my trainer was pretty cute.
I'm not defending it, I'm defending Sun/Moon as a whole.
If you can say, listen to Swans entire discography to be able to decide which albums you like and which ones you don't, then you should be able to get through 40 minutes of boring tutorials to be able to experience the good stuff that a game actually has to offer.
It's ironic that people criticize modern video games for stuff like this but at the same time criticize people for having short attention spans.
Pokemon is a childrens game. I don't think children care about story. They wanna battle & catch Pokemon.
If you've actually played through Sun or Moon, you would know that this time the story isn't just about becoming the champion, there is actual character development and they attempt some real twists with the villains (although admittedly the twists are kinda predictable).
And I disagree about changing the gyms, even though it's no really relevant to the story I thought doing al the different trials and battling the totem pokemon instead of the same kind of gyms we'd had for 20 fucking years was extremely fun and refreshing.
What's your point?
If anything, that means if you're NOT a child than YOU should be able to appreciate the story, because Sun/Moon are DEFINITELY more story-driven than most pokemon games.
there's nothing wrong with playing children's games, especially pokemon where there is actually some depth to the gameplay and it's not painstakingly simple/boring.
it wouldn't have such a massive adult fanbase if it wasn't fun for adults too.
Yeah but clearly a lot of adults are also playing Pokemon. The generation who grew up with Red and Blue are picking the games up to play them again.
Plus I don't buy that childrens media can't have good stories.
>there is actual character development and they attempt some real twists with the villains (although admittedly the twists are kinda predictable).
Cool, they did that with X/Y and Black/White too. The stories have always been shit. Just as you said, the twists are predictable because the stories are cookie cutter nonsense.
>And I disagree about changing the gyms, even though it's no really relevant to the story I thought doing al the different trials and battling the totem pokemon instead of the same kind of gyms we'd had for 20 fucking years was extremely fun and refreshing.
I don't have a problem with the change and I kind of agree. I'm just saying from a narrative standpoint, the storylines are interchangeable.
>it wouldn't have such a massive adult fanbase if it wasn't fun for adults too.
man children aren't adults though
>Cool, they did that with X/Y
hell no they didn't, did you even play XY? XY couldn't even give personality to the main characters let alone do anything meaningful with anyone else.
Black/White are generally considered to have the best stories in the pokemon series, but now many are debating whether Sun/Moon tops them.
however I will say that you are mostly right about the stories not being very good, even by video game standards. it's just that Sun/Moon stand out because they at least KINDA tried this time.
are you implying that all the millions of adults who play pokemon are "man children"?
that's just blatantly untrue. most of the people I work with got the new game(s), even women.
you need to get out from under the rock you've been living in and realize that pokemon is ridiculously popular around the world and it is by no means limited to children or "man children"
(you)
I've played all of these games and yeah, I agree B/W is better than X/Y story wise but as you said, we agree about the "stories not being very good, even by video game standards."
My point here is that even if GameFreak is really trying this gen, the stories are still not very good, and when the stories are still not very good, I don't really see the need for ultra long cut scenes. Just my opinion, and it seems like on some level we agree.
And yet you've played this game enough to know how long the opening cut scene is. What does that say about you?
Don't get your panties in a twist. You can play whatever you want.
(Pokemon still sucks though)
My panties aren't in a twist friend, just pointing out the irony of someone complaining for an hour about a childrens game on an anime image board calling other people manchildren.
I am one too, but I like good games.
nice damage control
not an argument
you're like one of those people who thinks they're better than top 40 listeners because they listen to Sup Forumscore
lol
That's great mate, enjoy whatever games you play.
It's funny how the people who are the most quick to point out how "upset" other people are are almost always the ones who are actually getting upset.
I'm really sorry that some people talk about a game you don't enjoy. I wish you all the best.
Spyro The Dragon
Crash Twinsanity
Sonic 2006 was p. good desu
