A year ago I was getting hyped for Blackstar. My only regret is that we will never know what else he had.

Post your rarest Bowies

Shit, it's really been almost a year since he's been gone. Fuck.

I'm in the mood to do some album/song rankings. Gonna switch to laptop and post em.

One thing that Scaruffi definitely got right is that Bowie sucks.

DISCUSS YOUR FAVORITE UNDERRATED BOWIE SONG

Cygnet Committee, Afraid, and We Prick You are all masterpieces

>you will never again get to listen to that crappy quality leak of Blackstar from Sup Forums on New Years Eve again for the first time and get all excited wondering what style Bowie will do next
Where did it all go wrong?

>tfw i know this feel super hard
we were the first people outside of those who were involved with it to listen to blackstar
how lucky were we Sup Forums

I remember listening to the album non-stop on repeat for the whole weekend after release, and was listening when I heard the news. I'm glad it went that way, who else could have done it like that?

Time
It's gonna be me
BTWN
Looking for Satellites

Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud, A Small Plot of Land, Dead Man Walking, New Angels of Promise, and I'd Rather Be High.

>we're now almost a month away from his 1-year death anniversary
I can't handle these feels

You better not be that fag that gives like 19 10/10's

I'm Afraid of Americans
Bring Me the Disco King
The Stars (Are Out Tonight)
Atomica
Girl Loves Me

Forgot the fucking chart. Here's my Bowie taste.
Gonna rank my favorite Bowie songs

Here's a list I made ages ago that I can't be bothered updating

I've gotten a little more conservative with my ratings since but it's still by and large similar

God damn...Why is Tonight so low, my man?

I mean I understand people don't like it but sheesh, didn't think it was worse than NLMD.

>Loving the Alien

Not really a lesser-known, it was a big hit single and a standard on compilations. Still I agree that this song is amazing. Bowie talked shit about it and he seemed to prefer the acoustic style he did on the Reality tour, but I disagree with him the song was of it's time and it takes me back.

Lesser-knowns:

>god bless the girl
>red sails
>criminal world
>fascination

Oh don't worry.

I am.

that's a rating i'd like to change, i'd probably give both those albums a 3 now

I never personally understood the hate for 'Tonight', but to each his own. I know the glossy production was a factor but I thought it was pleasant.

Now this is some good taste

just wasnt my thing, but i get it, dont mind if anyone likes it

I liked it as a side-b on my Let's Dance c90. An album of its time. Also in hindsight it's pretty amusing that Bowie could take a junkie's lament about his dead OD girlfriend and turn it into a reggae-schmaltz duo with Tina Turner. And even title the album after it.

Bowie had a pretty sick sense of humour man. I wish I met him. ;w;

>reggae-schmaltz
That's most of the reason I liked the album desu, the reggae style was really interesting to me.

Time
Girl Loves Me
Starman
African Night Flight

it actually took me really long to listen to an album of him
started listening to him half a year before his death
he´s my favourite artist now
i dont really care about christmas n stuff but i´ll dedicate jan 10th to him and listen to all records i got

Every since getting into Bowie I've been getting further in to esotericism and occultism

Is it just a meme with Bowie?

Or should I seriously consider joining the Golden Dawn?

I want to be a good person.
I could never want to hurt someone who would never hurt me.

[/x/ shit]

Sup Forums has changed me so much over 3 years

The Width of a Circle is GOAT

It brought me to a whole new world.
One where not only where the mainstream media maybe lying, but one where the forces that our ancestors so diligently devoted their entire lives to might actually be real.

I know Thelma was the creation of Crowley, but I don't know how true it may be.
I believe 'magick' is real. But how can I be good with 'magick'?

/x/ has never been any help
I'm hoping someone has been through the same arch as I, but can tell me what to so.

check out fringe chan ...... (you didnt hear this from me)

David studied the occult since the 60's

He wasn't actually a satanist or anything like that, but he opened his mind to the studies of many different religions, and I believe died a buddhist if I remember correctly

Very solid list. First-half of Young Americans is God-tier for me. Might require my family to play Diamond Dogs looped at my funeral.

The Width of a Circle.

If you have a 'suicide' or end up in a 'car crash' I want you to know I am thankful.

The stupidly long version played in the Ziggy days was godly

I've never listened to him before. What's the best album of his to start with?

>Sup Forums has changed me
>I believe 'magick' is real
I'll say

I'm not kidding

3 disc version is great to get a "taste" of his discography, then you can decide on your favorites and listen to the albums they're from, then fill in the blanks after

start with hunky dory

go chronological, but skip his first album

What an amazing picture.

It's finished now

>skip his first album
Found the pleb who can't fuck with his GOAT camp era

and Pin Ups, and Young Americans

as a scot i cant enjoy the music even if i tried
he just sounds such a middle class twat

>and Young Americans
What? No. I don't even like YA that much but you can't skip it.

His early years have rare gems, and listening to his first album eases you into the cancelled yet leaked Toy

youtube.com/watch?v=qVTxH-gRUL8

>Young Americans
>Skip

God damn it man, and I was even with you with Pinups...

>middle class twat
>not twit

listening now
VERY good

Subterraneans

Melancholy is my favourite emotion and that song conveys it powerfully. Great closing track too.
