He wasn't conditioned to be able to defend the takedowns / keep the distance and avoid the takedowns altogether. If he had a proper camp, it would've made a huge difference in his speed in the cage. I still think DC's strategy would've been the same so if they happened to rematch I'm not sure who I would pick to actually win.

Watching the Conor fight, Jose obviously got knocked out because he flung himself into conors fist and provided most of the force. Conor hit him with a straight left before that, and jose ate it. Jose doesnt have a bad chin by any means, because he always fights safe and rarely gets rocked. If he lets Conor lead like nate did until conor got rocked, jose could beat him. his head movement and footwork is better than nates, and i could see him dodging conors punches and rocking him, or coasting to a win.

conor is a much different challenge on paper than aldo is used to, he's a lot rangier than most of the people fighting 145

it's usually all ubermanlets at that level and aldo was the biggest guy among them, always talking about moving up

but conor is 2 inches taller with 4 inches more reach, quality boxing and diverse kicking.

if aldo is smart in the rematch he will just try to dominate with takedowns and grappling
