I've listened to all the Yo La Tengo on your chart actually, ATNTIIO is a close second for me. I'm not a huge fan of Painful however

Here's where I stand on the whole "Sup Forumscore charts" thing.

For me, personally, it's not that the albums are bad. Let's face it, once we drop the whole edgelord pretence Sup Forumscore is, at it's very worst, mediocre. Actually shit music sounds like Sam Sacks or those John Lennon musique concrete albums or that one Chet Baker record where he didn't have any teeth.

In my view, I just find it a bit unlikely to take seriously. I find it hard to believe that someone could have taste that are so 1:1 with the established canon. You have to understand that canon was established by thousands upon thousands of different people, and only the commonalities between them. Maybe 60 percent of them had Madvillainy, and then also other stuff.

So once you rule that out the only explanation left for these charts being so safe is that this is legitimately the only quality music these people have to pool from. In that case I think "listen to more music" is a perfectly valid statement to make. You could phrase it nicer, sure.

But when I see someone whose top ten is Lift Yr Skinny Fists, Low, American Football, Demon Days, Illmatic, A Love Supreme, Pet Sounds, The Moon & Antarctica, Since I Left You and Unknown Pleasures I don't think a little skepticism is too elitist on my part. If that genuinely is your top ten, god bless, but you have to acknowledge what an astounding coincidence it is.
