/black metal/ general

Once upon a time in Norway Edition

old thread

no pls explain

its /nbbmd/ you goofed it

Why is Polish black metal so good?

Stop listening to african music and go make dungeon synth general

...

I created the other thread; it should be /nbbmd/.

Also, bump limit is at 310, not 300.

Delete this.

give it a rest, people didn't even do nbbmn cause they're such fucking casuals and you expect nbbmd on top of it
let's keep it to /black metal/

Year after year i feel like Polish BM is realy inconsistent.
t.polak

what did you mean by this picture

since you're solo, a loop pedal is pretty helpful if you don't want to be doing overdubs. Obviously a distortion pedal, a treble pedal is pretty nice to have depending on your amp, reverb too.

>inb4 a bunch of threads going back and forth between nbbmd and /black metal/

its the same thing

What are you listening to anons? Listening to Pillars I - it's fucking fantastic.

what do you mean don't want to be doing overdubs. aren't you overdubbing it with a loop pedal?

listening to Gris right now. its nice

I mean in post.
for example, if you want to have a riff playing while you do a tremolo melody, a loop pedal is incredibly helpful.

Mfw no chance Graveland is gonna play live in Canada :(

>black metal
baka just listen to djent instead

I can't do /nbbmd/ after /nbbmn/ as there is too much other music I have to listen to this year, but I will happily contribute here. Currently listening to Cobalt - Slow Forever.

It snowed! It snowed! Going to take a walk in a nearby forest right now, what should I listen to? I was thinking Paysage d'Hiver since I haven't listened to his stuff since it snowed last year.

Up to interpretation

Definitely Paysage

Because Germans and Russians want their land and Scandinavians don't like them.

didn't most of North America get snow overnight?

>tfw it never snows here

Hail!
Do you know the source of this cover art? It's from gorgoroth's album but I want to know more i.e. who's the artist or where it came from. Anyone something?

I can't wait until it drops down to -30 when I can go for a walk and really feel the coldness in the music

Vocals are fucking shit and the music is bland. What am i missing to understand Graveland

These Nachtmystium guys are p good

ty murrica for this pgud BM

is anyone other than OP from the previous thread actually doing nbbmd?

I want to listen to other comfy stuff during December, as well as listen to some other stuff from this year and catch up. I listen to a lot of black metal year round, and will post in these threads whenever possible though.

I am, but I am a bit more lenient than I was during nbbmn, if someone sends me a link I'll open it and I listened to cher's believe a few times
but yea I'm mostly carrying on with only bm, and currently mostly LLN

trying too. not super strict, and only listening to a few albums a day, but yeah.

I'm not, still listening to black metal but I'm not limiting myself to it

Hey guys please don't shoot my school okay tnx

What?

Sacrifice has to be made!

>tfw too inteligent to limit myself to listening to strictly one genre for a month

Are you based in Lithuania?

Celtic Winter is bland? Carpathian Wolves is bland? Thousand Swords is bland? Fuck off

I promise, you won't discover the greatest, most incredible secret gem of a black metal album in that thread's next 10 posts. Let it go.

Just not intelligent enough to know this isn't one of those kinds of threads.

What do people think of Mare Cognitum?

not my usual type of bm to be honest but fucking hell are they good.

stop trying to be snowflakes and just post in the metal general.

@69488096
no

anyone else listened to pic related? bm aoty contender for sure

contending with what desu

for me, forgotten spell and sorcier des glaces

I appreaciate that and your satan digits

some of us don't even like regular metal

I came back from my snow walk and it was incredible. I listened to Kristal & Isa by Paysage d'Hiver and Det Som Engang Var.

I made you guys a snowman since these threads seen lonely.

that's very nice, thank you user

>no eyeliner
>no SVNBATHER tee
>no long black hair

t. tourist

I should try to make some demon thing out of snow for a cool album cover

Thanks user yesterday I walked around listening The Mantle

you probably don't even know what t. means newfag

bump :)

What are you listening to? What do you rate it?

>Sapthuran - To the Edge of Land
>8/10: Nice atmosphere, and well done interludes.

do you usually take long, hot showers until the hot water runs out?

>living in a 3rd world country where the hot water runs out

short cold showers are more kvtl

h-how can you have infinite hot water

have a decent water heater.

shit thread

it's called a boiler

I didn't know it was considered a bad thing for someone to post twice or three times in a thread but Black metal is all about popularity after all

Next blizzard I'm just gonna walk along the back streets listening to the Mantle.

haven't listened to that release but I love luminiferous aether

and also
>they

what do you guys listen to black metal on?

valium

Walkman

My SPL interface and Grados

>he fell for the audio Jew

what the fuck is that shit

confirmed for never having heard music from a good system

have you guys heard this 2016 dark ambient release?

black metal hasn't been the same since the singer from Gris took his own life.

Are there any other sub-genres of metal where the classics are so highly regarded and don't have totally polarising opinions? I cant think of any.

Can't say I've ever heard someone say Hvis is shit, or say Transylvanian Hunger.

There are quite a bit of people who try to be contrarians and dismiss the classics.

Maybe jazz is similar, where everyone knows the classics are Kind of Blue and A Love Supereme.

For power metal it's Nightfall in Middle Earth, Doom is Sleep's Holy Mountain/Master of Reality, death metal is most of the 80s classics. Most metal has relatively undisputed classics.

Get a load of this faggot.

Pic related. Fantastic album. Shame the rest of their discography doesn't match up (in my opinion)

>Can't say I've ever heard someone say Hvis is shit
You'd be surprised.

Sleep is Stoner, not Doom. I'm not a massive fan of theirs desu

Stoner is a fascet of doom metal. Don't be silly.

Sleep is Stoner Doom.

Candlemass is Doom, Kyuss is Stoner.

There's overlap, but they are different genres.

Does anybody still have the link to the Cosmic Black Metal dump/torrent/whatever it was?

I see tons of people shit on Transilvanian Hunger for being too monotonous or whatever.

The artwork was done by May Husby.

I'm so fucking sad.

Please rec me some DSBM that's numbing. Xasthur is doing the job for now.

Strid

Friendly reminder that Slayer pre-Reign in Blood is honourary black metal. It sure as fuck is cvlt enough.

Slayer isn't really cvlt, though.

Most of their occult lyrics are from the point of view of someone suffering hell or satanic evil. That's not nearly as cvlt as being a satan worshiper.

It's the same reason they aren't Nazis for writing Angel of Death.

I purchased that on Bandcamp earlier.

AvantGarde is an amazing record label, though I don't understand where they got the stupid name because their artists are almost all exclusively atmoblack

In terms of being honourary black metal, Slayer are more along the lines of the very early first wave bands like Venom and Hellhammer. They're really more thrash with the look of black metal. Slayer were one of the first bands to wear corpse paint.

Have some raw black metal.

Very, very good album.

holy shit that's some pretty next level autism right there

Hvis IS shit, and Transilvanian hunger too

Sure thing bud.

Varg is dead to me at this point, anyone else feel the same way?

t. tourist

My copy turned up in the post yesterday - just waiting on Earth I now too.

Great album

>Varg is dead to me at this point, anyone else feel the same way?
Why? Can't you distinguish people from their music?
