Gothic Industrial

What are some bands that are like Rammstein, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie.

Not metal, just really dark.

Go listen to actual goth music, not Hot Topic nu-metal shit.

Did you ever stop to think that is why I made this thread?

I guess SOAD fits in there.

Street Sects?

Nine Inch Nails isn't goth rock, it's industrial rock
Rammstein isn't goth rock, it's Neue Deutsche Härte
Marilyn Manson has ONE goth rock album and it's one of his worst
Rob Zombie isn't goth rock, it's industrial rock with psychobilly elements

Street Sects isn't goth rock, it's industrial rock with skramz elements

SOAD isn't goth rock, it's nu-metal/funk-metal

Now, as for "goth industrial", it's not a genre.

If you mean "industrial that goths listen to", then any kind of industrial will fit the bill.
If you mean "industrial made by goths of some kind", then you're looking for Harsh EBM and its offshoots. Basically what eventually devolved into industrial dance and cybermetal.

There are a handful of industrial rock bands that have very strong goth themes and influences, like Blutengel, but they're not very good.

so check out Blutengel I guess.

Check out The Cure, Bauhaus, early Swans, early Siouxsie, Joy Division, Christian Death, shit like that.

none of that is industrial though

>If you mean "industrial made by goths of some kind", then you're looking for Harsh EBM and its offshoots. Basically what eventually devolved into industrial dance and cybermetal.
I dunno. Reznor looks pretty gothy to me.

good recs

NiN is industrial, and usually really good even. I'd call him fairly goth.
Just mainstream and rock as well.

ew

Thank you, I'm fairly new to goth industrial, but that's the kind of stuff that I've found to be really good so far.

It's metal but I feel it corresponds to what you want more than anything you listed:

Septicflesh - Revolution DNA
The Kovenant - Animatronic

it's cyber metal in its purest state: a mixture of industrial metal and corsetcore goth rock. Cheesy as fuck and I never use that term lightly

once again, goth industrial isn't a genre

More like your face isn't a genre. Amirite?

>goth industrial

I know, it's a scene, and the only one of my recs from that scene was Alien Sex Fiend. I just have the goth industrial idea in my mind because I want to make sure I find music that sounds dark. Really what I'm doing is listening to electro-industrial, darkwave, and coldwave.

>mfw mf isn't a genre

What an influential figure. Gone way too soon.

then keep doing that instead of mentioning poppy industrial rock bands like Rammstein.

>mfw I realize Manson lifted half of his Dead To the World stage gimmicks from Rozz

>Gothic Industrial
>Rammstein, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails

I'm not OP.
I'm these...
Anyway, I think Rammstein is OK, not my cup of tea though. I do agree that they're a bit too plain old boring rock.

I went through a phase between my Rammstein/NIN/MM phase that eventually lead to me loving electronic.

If you like all of those listed in the OP, I think you'd like these:

Grendel

Gesaffelstein:

and Rotersand:

His entire gimmick is just a politically edgier version of Premature Ejaculation.

Nah Rammstein is great
Good mixture of Die Krupps and Laibach, very catchy, very fun
it's just not dark at all.

Anyway Hanzel und Gretyl is even more fun than Rammstein, and take the "comedy nazi" gimmick to insane levels. And they have stronger riffs

Yeah I'm also very new to this, so forgive me if I haven't caught onto Rammstein yet. What should I listen to if I want to get into them?

I'll just list some Neue Deutsche Härte bands

Die Krupps
Hänzel und Gretyl
Jesus and the Gurus
Panzertank
Ruoska

I wanna know what people think of this. It's Japanese, probably darkwave or something, has Depeche Mode influences, very dark and pretty sounding.

What's more stuff like Alien Sex Fiend? I dig their combination of industrial drum machines and guitars.

what you need its avant garde

Thy Catafalque
Heimataerde
Solefald
Mortemia

all of them are basically Medieval + Metal and Electronica

the basis of what you call "Gothic Industrial"

None of that is either got or Industrial, only shock rock and post-industrial.

gothic=/=goth
Reznor is gothic, not goth, just as Manson is.

Did you not even read the thread at all before you posted? Or do you just like repeating things?

I did, you said gothic industrial, listed bands that weren't either, and then said ever so ambiguously: "not metal just really dark."

I'm not OP.
We already told OP the error of their ways. Please read the thread before you post.

3Teeth, 16Volt, Sulpher, LLuther, Dope Stars, Zeromancer, No Fate Net

There are plenty of bands like that. Just look for Industrial Rock. That's what you want.
